Ramblings: Changes and A Winner!

So New York Chica has been through yet another blog redesign.  As a blogger, I feel a blog should be refreshed at least once a year.  It makes for new content for those days we are having writer's block which happens to me way too often.  But sometimes change is good.  We all  need that extra "oomph" to get our ideas out. Right? So I contacted Jacqui from Wacky Jacqui Designs and told her I was ready for another change (she designed my blog once before) and she was as usual, very helpful … [Read more...]

Ramblings: Do You Know Who I like More?

That was the question that started a conversation between my six-year-old and I in my bedroom - "Do you know who I like more?" You know the saying, there's always a child a parent "likes" more than the other(s)?  Well, as for me, that's not true. I love/like all my kids the same but differently because that's what they are -- different. Apparently my 6-year-old, my baby -- the one I carried for 9 months, likes one parent more than the other. The reason: I don't give into her requests for … [Read more...]

Cooking With FAGE Total at The French Culinary Institute in New York City

{Scroll down below for a slideshow} Recently I went to a cooking class at the French Culinary Institute where I was invited by FAGE (pronounced Fa-yeh) to cook alongside with other bloggers. Honestly, I never bought FAGE yogurt nor have I tasted it but I was intrigued on how to incorporate yogurt into everyday cooking so I obliged. Here's a little history: The Beginning: In 1926, Athanassios Filippou opened a small dairy shop in Athens, Greece. At the time, the shop’s location was … [Read more...]

Tuesday Thirteen: 13 “More” Things About Me

A few months ago I posted about facts about me so this is kind of a continuation of the first one. Also, if you're a blogger, you may have noticed that I wrote "Tuesday Thirteen." Bloggers know it should be Thursday but I never got to posting this LAST week so enjoy. LOL **************************** 1.  I consider myself a very neutral person, but if you have issues with rules I have for my kids, then I have a problem with that.  My motto is "My kids, my rules." It's nothing against the … [Read more...]

Wordless Wednesday – City Island Fun (#linky)

I was looking through my photos yesterday and decided it was a good time to transfer my precious photos to my portable drive.  There has been too many close calls with my computer and my husband is blaming my blogging for mishaps. I couldn't agree with him more. Blogging and reading other blogs leaves the computer vulnerable to viruses and such so please be careful everyone. Ok, so I did say this was a "Wordless" Wednesday so let me just show you the pics I chose for this week ;): These … [Read more...]

Bloggers Share Their PERFECT Mother’s Day

Mother's Day, to most moms, is a day to relax and unwind according to the bloggers I "interviewed." It's not a day for extravagant gifts or have brunch or dinner at a fancy restaurant. Most of us moms just want the day off to do absolutely nothing. And there's nothing wrong with wanting a day to ourselves. Moms work hard all year long and on our special day (although Mother's Day should be everyday), we just want to be filled with lots of love, no mommy duties and lots of scrumptious … [Read more...]

Changes For The #DisneySMMoms Conference

Next week, I will be in Orlando for my second blog conference, the Disney Social Media Moms Conference.  I'll be in Orlando for 4 days and I'm so excited to go.  Since I started blogging, I have only been to one conference which is BlogHer 10' and it was awesome. A bit overwhelming but I learned a lot.  I'm so ready to network, meet other bloggers and spend some time at the greatest place on earth, Walt Disney World. Unfortunately things have changed since my last post about the conference. … [Read more...]
