Hello everyone! You know I can't remember the last time I posted a Shout-out Sunday. Do you? It was one of my favorite posts to do. I'm hoping I can keep up with the Shout-out Sunday every week! If you have any suggestions, please feel free to email me! During the holidays, I tend to cook A LOT like so many other people. I love to make traditional Puerto Rican foods such as arroz con gandules (rice and pigeon peas), pernil (pork roast), Flan (caramel custard) and Coquito (Puerto Rican … [Read more...]
Celebrating 101 Days of Summer Play with Banana Boat Natural Reflect Sunscreen.
Now that I'm a full-time working mom, I don't attend too many brand/blog events. It's either in the morning or in the afternoon when I have to be at work so I usually send one of my writers to represent New York Chica. Yesterday's blog event was different. It fell right on a SATURDAY! I was ecstatic when I received an invite to attend the 101 Days of Summer Play Event by Banana Boat®, held in the wonderful home of Amy aka SelfishMom. To be honest, I was quite honored. Lately I've been … [Read more...]
#DisneyPixarEvent: The Secrets Behind BRAVE ~ Told By Director Mark Andrews
I can't believe it! BRAVE will be in theaters everywhere this FRIDAY!! I've waited months for this movie (I missed the screening :/) and now I can finally see it with my girls. For me, this movie represents girl power and independence, for both little girls and women. We can conquer anything we set our minds to and be damn good at it too! While in San Francisco, the bloggers were treated to several interviews with the amazing people behind the movie BRAVE. Here's the inside scoop from … [Read more...]
From New York to San Francisco: Kilts, Archery, Bagpipes & More! #DisneyPixarEvent
Day Two of the Disney/Pixar event was even more magical than the day before. Like I said before, Disney/Pixar had a jam-packed schedule for the bloggers on Day Two and we were ready to take it on! Upon arriving at the Pixar Studios for the second time (lucky us!), we were treated to a wonderful breakfast in the atrium. After our breakfast, we were divided into two groups; Clan Dingwalls and Clan McGuffins. I was in group Clan McGuffin. Check him out below: During this time, we … [Read more...]
San Francisco, Here I Come! #DisneyPixarEvent
I don't even know where to begin. I'm so thrilled to be attending a Disney and Pixar event in San Francisco with 24 other bloggers from around the country! I literally screamed when I saw the email in my inbox. My kids were like, "Um, Mom, why are you acting like a kid?" I replied with, "I'm going to San Fransisco!" The looks on their faces were priceless! After that, my girls were asking if they could go. Sadly, they cannot. It's only for bloggers. YES!! lol Shh, don't tell … [Read more...]
Perfect Pairing: Frito-Lays and Delectable Dips with Friends
Last week, my daughters and I ventured out to Suzanne's place in Queens, N.Y. to meet up with some of the New York based bloggers for a get-together sponsored by Frito-Lays. Any meet-up with chips accompanied by some delectable dips are always a good thing when paired together, in my opinion. If you haven't noticed, last week's weather was brutal with temps hitting high 90's and feeling like triple digits but thankfully Suzanne had a water table out and a bouncy house for the kiddies and … [Read more...]
Cooking With FAGE Total at The French Culinary Institute in New York City
{Scroll down below for a slideshow} Recently I went to a cooking class at the French Culinary Institute where I was invited by FAGE (pronounced Fa-yeh) to cook alongside with other bloggers. Honestly, I never bought FAGE yogurt nor have I tasted it but I was intrigued on how to incorporate yogurt into everyday cooking so I obliged. Here's a little history: The Beginning: In 1926, Athanassios Filippou opened a small dairy shop in Athens, Greece. At the time, the shop’s location was … [Read more...]

Happy Sunday! It’s that time once again. It’s time for that Shout-Out Sunday post. You know the drill — It’s where I showcase posts written by bloggers from around the blogosphere. Chris O’Donnell Joins the Lunchables Team at Times Square
Earlier this week I had an amazing opportunity that doesn’t happen too often for me. I was recently contacted by Lunchables to join them at Times Square along with other bloggers to help them reach their goal of donating up to one million pounds of fresh fruit to Feeding America AND get a chance of a lifetime to interview Chris O’Donnell (father of 5!) from the TV show NCIS: Los Angeles and movies like Batman and Robin, Scent of a woman and more. Now who’s crazy enough to say no to that? … [Read more...]
