A couple of weeks ago, my four year old and I had the pleasure of attending the EA Naughty or Nice event in New York City. The EA team was there showcasing new games from all their labels; EA Sports, EA Games and EA Play. It was held at a swanky club called The Providence Nightclub in the West Side on 57th St. This was my first time in the club so I was amazed. In every corner, I saw “toy” bags filled with fake gifts that were labeled Naughty or Nice to represent the games that were on displayed on all three levels.
Each level represented the type of games they had there. The main and upper level were called the Nice area because it held all of the family games. The lower level, which was called the Naughty area, held all of the mature, violent and bloody games. Since I had my four year old with me, we stood in the main and upper levels, just in case. I didn’t want her frightened or scarred for life. « Click HERE to Read More »
“Protect Yourself. Protect Your Baby. Get your Flu Shot.” This is the motto for their new campaign for Healthywomen.org.
Ten days ago, I attended a flu protection meeting with other mom bloggers and Dr. Ashley Roman, a Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University School of Medicine and Assistant Clicnical Professor at Yale University.
The purpose of this meeting was to learn about the risks and the need for the seasonal flu shot and the H1N1 flu shot (Swine Flu). We would also have the option to get a flu shot administered by Dr. Ashley Roman, which I did get.
Since I’m a mom of 3, I already knew most of the facts about the flu shot and the benefits of getting one too but I learned lots of new information as well.
The one thing I’m still unsure of is the H1N1 flu shot. I guess it’s because I’ve been hearing lots of news lately that there isn’t enough information about the risks of the shot and the effects it will have in the long run. Even though Dr. Ashley Roman advised all of us there that it was indeed safe for everyone, I’m still undecided.
The Keurig brand has had a great reputation and it’s growing every day. Because of that, I’ve wanted one for the last few years because I’ve heard many great things about the brewer and to be honest, I’m really the only person that drinks “coffee maker” coffee since my husband is an instant coffee drinker, yuk, I know. So, whenever I made coffee in the coffee maker, I had to throw the rest away because I only wanted one cup.
So, when I found out that www.Shoffee.com will be giving me one to try out, I was truly excited and so glad. Joe from www.Shoffee.com sent me the Elite brewer with a cute travel mug (that hubby takes to work everyday) and a huge amount of k-cups; different brands & flavors of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I was shocked and grateful to receive all of this:

When I first started this blog, it was an outlet; a way of sharing my life, motherhood, marriage, my likes & dislikes and saving money with stores like CVS. I haven’t done that in awhile so I have a very special guest, Yoly, aka @cuponeando on Twitter and she will explain to you the best way to save money with coupons and get the best bang for your buck.
Nowadays, we’re all looking for ways to stretch our dollars and one way to keep more of it in your pocket is using coupons. In this post I’ll share with you five steps you can take to start saving more money for your family with coupons:
1. Start by setting a budget and get the cash. We used to have a budget amount we should have followed …but most of the time once in the store we blew it. Once we switched to cash it kept us from buying unnecessary items. When setting what amount to spend take into consideration how many meals will you be preparing a week and how often will you go to the store.
2. Get your coupons. The Sunday paper is still the best way to get coupons. Usually you get a couple of circulars with lots of coupons. Also, keep your eyes open when going to the supermarket, you can find coupons (called blinkies) in the aisles on certain products. You don’t have to use these right away. The same goes with Internet or printable coupons. Print the ones from your favorite brands or products you want to try. « Click HERE to Read More »
There’s nothing I hate more than a bully. When I hear horror stories from kids, it just breaks my heart. I just wish I could do something to make it all better but the truth of the matter is, I can’t. Kids have to learn how to deal with many things and sometimes parents don’t even know that their kids are being bullied but dealing with a bully is harder than we think. It’s a sad fact but true. Some kids have even committed suicide because they fell into a depression and could not take another day with bullies bothering them. This has got to stop!
This reminds me of when my kids (particularly my son) were in summer camp. I thought everything was going great because he seemed to be happy, but it wasn’t. One day he came home upset and he was not himself. I asked him what was wrong. He said nothing is wrong but I knew he was lying because he wasn’t “himself”. As a parent, I know when my kids are not themselves. « Click HERE to Read More »
