Top 10 Fall TV Shows

There’s so much to love about the Fall season. The fact that you can wear nice, comfortable bulky sweaters, drink hot & steamy lattes without a sweat, decorate your home with pumpkins, scarecrows, and of course, catch up on your favorite shows!

After a long day at work and long hours in the kitchen cooking, I like to unwind in front of the television a few times a week with hubby and watch our favorite shows. But I’m always disappointed when I watch my favorite TV show and it’s the Season finale! I get so heartbroken because I’ve become so attached to the characters and everything about the show.  My husband and I go through withdrawals for a few weeks after we’ve watched the finale of any of our favorite show.  It’s a sad moment in time, but then we get back to watching other shows and movies and are quickly distracted about the pain we just went through.

I’ll admit, I’m a bit dramatic at times; I can’t help it.  The fact that Fall has begun and Summer is no longer in season saddens me to no end so when my TV shows comes back on the air, I’m ready for a huge celebration.

These are my top 10 favorite shows that I’m beyond ecstatic about (not in this order):

  1. This Is Us – I think I cried during every single episode. Really! I don’t think I ever cried this much when a show was on. This is absolutely the best show I have ever seen on a local network. I hope this show lasts for many, many seasons! Milo Ventimiglia & Mandy Moore are so perfect for the show and they bring so much excitement and drama to the story line as well as to their viewers. It is about the family lives and connections of several people who all share the same birthday and the ways in which they are similar and different. Season 2 premieres on 9/26.
  2. Gotham – If there’s one thing that you don’t know about me, it’s that I love superhero movies and TV shows. I love the excitement it brings and the fact that it makes me feel so nostalgic. In the first season, James Gordon, a new recruit in the Gotham City Police Department, is paired with veteran detective Harvey Bullock to solve the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Gordon meets the Wayne’s son Bruce who is now in the care of his butler Alfred Pennyworth. Season 2 premieres on 9/21.
  3. Hell’s Kitchen – Chef Gordon Ramsey – Must I say more? This man is beyond talented in the kitchen and every dish must be PERFECT! If it’s not cooked by his standards, watch out! He will scream your cute little head off and not have a care in the world that he made you cry like a baby! But you know what? Americans LOVE him! I know I can’t get enough of him. I watch Master Chef, his videos on YouTube and basically whatever he’s on.  Chef Gordon Ramsey puts aspiring chefs to the ultimate test in competing against each other to become Chef Ramsey’s newest chef in one of his newest, elite restaurants.  Season 17 premieres on 9/29.
  4. The Blacklist – I’ve been a huge fan since the beginning.  Love and hate that this show gives me anxiety and an adrenaline rush at the same time. It’s basically about a former government agent Raymond “Red” Reddington which has eluded capture for decades. However, he suddenly surrenders to the FBI with an offer to help catch a terrorist under the condition that he speaks only to Elizabeth “Liz” Keen, a young FBI profiler who’s just barely out of Quantico. Season 5 premieres on 9/27.
  5. The Exorcist – Loved the movie so naturally I thought I would love the show right? RIGHT! I do love it, but I gotta be honest; This show makes me jump out of my skin.  It freaks me out, but at the same time it’s an entertaining and crazy show! It basically follows the movie with a few more jumps and twists. Angela is plagued by increasingly frightening nightmares. Her husband is slowly losing his mind, her older daughter spends her time locked in her room and her younger daughter is constantly hearing strange noises from inside the walls. Two priests are brought together, as all their fates become entangled in a battle against an ancient force of evil. Season 2 premieres on 9/29.
  6. American Horror Story – One word – Sick! Every season is a different mini-series and it keeps getting sicker and sicker! But I love every second of the show. It’s crazy and fun and mind-blowing. I especially loved season 5 with Lady Gaga seeing as I wouldn’t have thought of her to be such an amazing actress. Supposedly, each season is loosely inspired by true events. Spooky!! Season 7 started 9/5.
  7. Fear the Walking Dead – It’s basically the prequel of the Walking Dead (Another fave show!). At first, I thought I wasn’t going to enjoy the show since I’m a huge fan of The Walking Dead, but it really brings you back to where it all started. It’s a great show! Season 3, Episode 11 premiered on 9/17.
  8. The Walking Dead – Can you already tell that I love horror and zombies?? Yes, I’m a zombie queen; my kids are too! But please don’t ask me if I would survive the Apocalypse because sadly, I don’t think so – LOL.  This show is based on the apocalypse, obviously.  Surviving the elements, the zombies and the bad guys are their number one priority.  But to do all that takes time, skill and a very watchful eye.  Season 8 premieres on 10/22.
  9. Talking Dead – This show is usually on right after Fear The Walking Dead or The Walking Dead.  I just love Chris Hardwick’s humor and his knowledge of these shows. He seems very charismatic and very personable.
  10. Outlander – An English combat nurse from 1945 is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743.  She sees and goes through many tribulations during her time there.  My husband got me into this show and it’s very interesting to say the least. Season 3 premiered on 9/10.
