Empanada Mama – A Hidden Gem on 9th Ave in New York City

20121020-210209.jpg

Why is it that if you fry any foods in grease, it will taste absolutely amazing? Sometimes I wish vegetables tasted the same way. Oh well. A few weeks ago I was in the city with my sister and I mentioned to her that I was craving empanadas (think of a Jamaican beef patty). She said she knew the perfect place. We walked from Times Square to the west side on 9th and 51st Street. The weather was beautiful so we just walked and talked. We even saw Ethan Hawkes chatting with some fans. Once … [Read more...]

Visiting Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, California #DisneyPixarEvent

DisneyFamilymuseum

When I first received the email inviting me to a press event in San Francisco, I was surprised to know that Walt Disney had a whole museum dedicated to his life, his family and his fantastic career. Visiting the Walt Disney Family Museum was saved for day 3, the last thing on our agenda during the Disney/Pixar Event last month but it was the most memorable. Opened in 2009, the beautiful Walt Disney Family museum sits on the old grounds of a military base in the Presidio of San Francisco … [Read more...]

From New York to San Francisco: Pixar Studios, Footage of BRAVE & LA LUNA! #DisneyPixarEvent

BRAVE

Last week, I attended the Disney/Pixar Press Event  in sunny San Francisco and it still feels like a dream.  As I look at all the photos I took, my mind is going a mile a minute from all that we did in just three short days. DAY ONE: Upon my arrival at SFO (San Francisco Airport), I met with other bloggers in a van to head straight to our "home" for the next few days, Hotel Palomar.  Once we got to the hotel, I couldn't wait to visit Pixar Studios but thank goodness we had about an hour to … [Read more...]

San Francisco, Here I Come! #DisneyPixarEvent

Disney Pixar

I don't even know where to begin.  I'm so thrilled to be attending a Disney and Pixar event in San Francisco with 24 other bloggers from around the country! I literally screamed when I saw the email in my inbox. My kids were like, "Um, Mom, why are you acting like a kid?"  I replied with, "I'm going to San Fransisco!" The looks on their faces were priceless! After that, my girls were asking if they could go. Sadly, they cannot. It's only for bloggers. YES!! lol  Shh, don't tell … [Read more...]

A Kleenex Field Trip at the Amercian Museum of Natural History (AMNH)

Kleenex Field Trip

I grew up visiting the American Museum of Natural History.  The museum has a special place in my heart not only because I enjoy visiting every year but because my first visit to the museum happened when I was just six-years-old.  It was my very first field trip with my first grade class. It's funny, my daughter is now six-years-old and I remembered my first visit through her eyes.  So for me, it's a nostalgic feeling each and every time I visit. Last Thursday, my kids and I visited the … [Read more...]

Not too long ago, I was invited to a media preview at Splashdown Beach in Fishkill, NY for the unveiling of their new Bob the Builder Splashworks section. Disney Cruise Line: From The Big Apple to The Lone Star State and Beyond

DisneyCruiseLine

Did you hear the big news from the Disney Cruise Line?  Thank goodness I get updated emails from Disney Cruise Line because I'm what they call a "Silver Castaway member", having sailed back in 2002. They have announced they will be sailing from the Big Apple aka New York City, Galveston, Texas, Seattle and Los Angeles, California next Spring! That's right folks, in 2012.  Being a New Yorker, I am ecstatic that Disney will be sailing from New York City, which means no airfare for many … [Read more...]

Changes For The #DisneySMMoms Conference

Disney Social Media Moms

Next week, I will be in Orlando for my second blog conference, the Disney Social Media Moms Conference.  I'll be in Orlando for 4 days and I'm so excited to go.  Since I started blogging, I have only been to one conference which is BlogHer 10' and it was awesome. A bit overwhelming but I learned a lot.  I'm so ready to network, meet other bloggers and spend some time at the greatest place on earth, Walt Disney World. Unfortunately things have changed since my last post about the … [Read more...]

Winter Traveling Tips With Amy Tara Koch

travel girl

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of speaking with Amy Tara Koch, a former trend reporter for NBC and author of the popular pregnancy style book – Bump It Up: Transform Your Pregnancy into the Ultimate Style Statement about traveling tips in the Winter months. If you've seen my rants on Twitter complaining about the snow and this wickedly cold weather, than you  already know that I do not like Winter. So normally, I do not travel anywhere in the winter months because I'm not a fan of … [Read more...]
