Hittin’ The Road to Lancaster, PA in the New 2017 Mazda CX-3 Grand TouringAWD #DriveShop #DriveMazda

Disclosure: Thanks to Drive Shop for giving me the opportunity to drive the 2017 Mazda CX-3 for ten days.  Opinions expressed are always my own.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I love going on road trips.  I truly enjoy the adventure, the open road and the quality time spent with my loved ones. We can chat, crack jokes, listen to music and even play games.

A few weekends ago, my family and I packed up the Mazda CX-3 and took off to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for a fun 80’s themed party, hosted by my lovely bonus sister. Little did we know it would be a surprise engagement party for her and her boyfriend!

We had a blast! The music brought back a ton of memories and the dance moves were dug up from the grave. LOL  The decor was amazingly spot on.  It felt as though we were back in the 80’s. It was such an eventful weekend.  So glad I was able to witness such a beautiful chapter in her life.

On with the 2017 Mazda CX-3…..

The 2017 Mazda CX-3 is considered a subcompact SUV.   The particular model we had will cost you around $28k.  The dashboard has everything within arm’s distance which is useful if you’re a short person like me. ;).  With the $28k price, you get a vehicle which comes equipped with everything you need, want and more!

Checkit out!

Comfort

The driver’s seat was very comfy.  It was a little low for me (I’m 5’1) but it wasn’t a big deal.  My husband loved driving it tho’. He said it had great pick-up, drove smoothly and he loved that it was great on gas.  Mazda does state that the CX-3 can seat five passengers but I think to be extremely comfortable, you can absolutely seat 4 adults. My two girls sat in the backseat for the trip and they didn’t have much room left for another person.

The trunk was pretty average.  We were able to fit all of our bags and necessities for the weekend.

Favorite Features

The dash is filled with all the bells and whistles I wish my current SUV had.  Let’s start off with the Active Driving Display.  It shows you the speed you are going and if your navigation is on, it will also show you when to turn.  It’s one of those safety features that should be standard in all vehicles.  Just knowing that the display is there helped me stay within the speed limit which makes me feel safe and happy.

The other feature I loved were the heated seats. It got pretty chilly in Lancaster towards the end of the night so that feature came in handy when it was time to get my booty warm. And I can’t forget about the Mazda Connect Infotainment System.  The touch screen display is fantastic! You can hook up your phone through Bluetooth and you can listen to your favorite playlist from Pandora or Spotify.  I also loved the rain-sensing wipers. The most useful feature for me is the rear view camera.  You just never know who’s behind you.   For us, it would be the neighbor’s kid who’s always riding around without a helmet on the street. Sigh…

And I can’t forget about the SkyActiv Technology. It’s Mazda’s unique engineering approach that gives you a better driving experience with an equally impressive 34 EPA-estimated HWY MPG.

I did mention this vehicle is great on gas, right? =)

I loved the color scheme of this model. The look of the leather mixed in with suede was a nice touch to the sport-styled seats. The back seats were pretty firm but comfortable as well. It was nice to have the adjustable head rests in the back. My girls took FULL advantage of them.

My Thoughts

Overall, the 2017 Mazda CX-3 is definitely a comfortable and stylish ride that will turn heads when you pass by.  It may not be suitable for large families like mine but it’s perfect for small families, couples or even the college student who would want a crossover vehicle that rides smoothly, that is great on gas and looks sleek & stylish!

How could I forget?

Here are a few photos from that awesome 80’s themed Engagement party! So much fun!
