San Francisco, Here I Come! #DisneyPixarEvent

I don’t even know where to begin.  I’m so thrilled to be attending a Disney and Pixar event in San Francisco with 24 other bloggers from around the country! I literally screamed when I saw the email in my inbox. My kids were like, “Um, Mom, why are you acting like a kid?”  I replied with, “I’m going to San Fransisco!” The looks on their faces were priceless! After that, my girls were asking if they could go. Sadly, they cannot. It’s only for bloggers.

YES!! lol  Shh, don’t tell them…

Brave

You’ve probably saw other bloggers tweeting and blogging about this event but I wanted to make sure I can take the time off from work.  It’s been a little over 4 months of working full-time and I feel like I have no time for anything.  I finally received the great news from my supervisor on Friday that my PTO (paid time off) was APPROVED!!! YAY! I CANNOT WAIT!!!

Disney Chimpanzee

The first time I visited California was last January, for the Gnomeo & Juliet Press Junket and I fell in love with EVERYTHING.  The smell of the air, the huge Hollywood sign, the palm trees — this list can go on and on.  Ever since that time, I’ve dreamed of going back one day and it’s going to happen! Another dream come true, all thanks to Disney and Pixar Studios.

So let me start off with the details.

It’s going to be a jam-packed 3 day event, April 3-5, where 25 bloggers will attend a press day for Disney/Pixar’s BRAVE including a tour of Pixar Studios, admission at The Walt Disney Family Museum and an advance screening of Disneynature’s latest film CHIMPANZEE!

Here’s a sneak peek of the movie I cannot wait to see, BRAVE:

About: Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

Below is our schedule in a nutshell:

Tuesday, April 3rd:

Arrive into San Francisco and attend a reception at Pixar with footage from BRAVE and a screening of the Academy Award nominated short film, LA LUNA, which will run before Disney/Pixar’s BRAVE in theaters June 22, 2012.

Press day at Pixar for BRAVE including interviews with Director Mark Andrews, animators and a tour of Pixar. Following the press day, we will screen Disneynature’s CHIMPANZEE, in theaters April 20, 2012! YAY!
