I’m Attending The Gnomeo and Juliet Red Carpet Premiere in HOLLYWOOD!

I cannot believe I’ll be leaving tomorrow morning on a jet-plane to go across the country to California — by myself!  Is this a dream? Not anymore! 😉

A few weeks ago I received an email from Disney inviting me to the Red Carpet Premiere for Gnomeo and Juliet.  It couldn’t have come at a better time because it was right after Christmas.

What a way to start the new year!

The email stated that it will be an all-expense paid trip to Hollywood, California filled with a busy schedule of seeing a special screening of Gnomeo and Juliet, interviewing a few celebrities from the movie, attending the Red Carpet Premiere of Gnomeo and Juliet and a special surprise along with 19 other bloggers.

I was shocked!

I read the email a few times before mentioning it to my husband because I couldn’t believe it.  Disney was actually inviting ME to fly out to California, a place I’ve never been, to have fun and get treated like VIP’s — all paid for by Disney.

How cool is that?

At first I was hesitant to answer with a yes because I needed some time to think.  Since this would be my very first press trip, I needed to make sure my kids would be cared for and it wouldn’t interfere with my husband’s work schedule.

So we talked about it and thanks to my family helping out, everything worked out.  All I needed to do was find some nice clothes, pack up and get ready for the busy but fun weekend.

The busy weekend will be jam-packed with lots of things to do.  On Friday, we’re planning to all be in Los Angeles by 5 pm so we can meet Marshall & Dustin (Two of the coolest guys EVER!) in the lobby to head out to see the screening of Gnomeo and Juliet in Beverly Hills. Saturday will be the busiest day of the weekend – interviews with Executive Producer and Music Supervisor Elton John, Emily Blunt (voice of Juliet), James McAvoy (voice of Gnomeo) and Director Kelly Asbury, lunch at the Four Seasons Hotel and then tour the Disney Lot for a private tour where we will watch special screenings of upcoming movies and on Sunday, which will be the best one ever, is the Red Carpet to the Premiere of Gnomeo and Juliet.

How’s that for a busy schedule? 😉 I am ready for it tho’.

I’m filled with excitement just thinking about the weekend.  Right this minute, my tummy feels like I have butterflies because I’m so nervous.  I’m hoping I get to meet cool bloggers and hopefully start some new friendships along the way too.

Synopsis: The greatest love story ever told, starring…garden gnomes? In the upcoming “Gnomeo & Juliet,” Shakespeare’s revered tale gets a comical, off-the-wall makeover. Directed by Kelly Asbury (“Shrek 2”) and showcasing both classic and original songs by Elton John, the film features the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt as Gnomeo and Juliet, who have as many obstacles to overcome as their quasi namesakes when they are caught up in a feud between neighbors. But with plastic pink flamingos and thrilling lawnmower races in the mix, can this young couple find lasting happiness?

Two garden gnomes, Gnomeo (voice of James McAvoy) and Juliet (voice of Emily Blunt), try to avoid tragedy and find a happy ending to their star-crossed love affair when they are caught up in a feud between neighbors.

Disclosure: Disney is providing an all-expense paid trip from New York to Hollywood, California (airfare, hotel accommodations and meals) for two nights.  All opinions are all my own, as always. But c’mon, how could anyone say no to a trip like this? THANK YOU DISNEY! I can’t wait! XOXO
