Changes For The #DisneySMMoms Conference

Next week, I will be in Orlando for my second blog conference, the Disney Social Media Moms Conference.  I'll be in Orlando for 4 days and I'm so excited to go.  Since I started blogging, I have only been to one conference which is BlogHer 10' and it was awesome. A bit overwhelming but I learned a lot.  I'm so ready to network, meet other bloggers and spend some time at the greatest place on earth, Walt Disney World. Unfortunately things have changed since my last post about the conference. … [Read more...]

Bloggers Share Their Best and Worst Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day is 4 days away. Are you ready? :) I hope so. A few days ago I sent out an email to some bloggers and friends and I asked them if they wanted to share their best & worst Valentine's Day. I didn't get 14 responders like I had planned but at least I got a good list for you to read.  The first thing I want to say is that this post was inspired by the lovely Jai from Mamistimeout.com (we first met at iVillage.com message boards) where she's doing something a bit different at … [Read more...]

Shout-Out Sunday – 11/21

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE! There’s a new trend here at New York Chica where I give a special Shout-Out to those bloggers who had a great post (at least I think so ) for the week. I wanted to show my readers that there are plenty of great writers/bloggers out in the blogosphere and giving props to fellow bloggers is a great way to give back to the blogging community. Since I started blogging in 2006 (2008 publicly), I’ve met so many good, sincere and accomplished bloggers like Niri … [Read more...]

Motherhood: I’m A Mean Mom. Are You?

Someday when my children are old enough to understand the logic that motivates a parent, I will tell them, as my Mean Mom told me: I loved you enough to ask where you were going, with whom, and what time you would be home. I loved you enough to be silent and let you discover that your new best friend was a creep. I loved you enough to stand over you for two hours while you cleaned your room, a job that should have taken 15 minutes. I loved you enough to let you see … [Read more...]

Mom Ramblings: Motherhood And Blogging Are A Lot Like Oil And Water

It's true. When comparing motherhood and blogging, oil and water comes to mind. Sometimes it's so hard for me to mix the two. Somewhere along the line I have to find balance but motherhood usually wins. I have three children, I can't help it. I'm a mom first, then a blogger -- the way is should be, right? This summer has been extremely busy and full of swimming lessons and camp a few days a week for my younger two.  So when there are no lessons or camp and the weather is way too hot to … [Read more...]

This Mama Definitely NEEDS A Smartphone!

Verizon and JuiceBoxJungle sponsored me to write this post, and they asked me to talk about the ways a smart phone would affect my life as a parent and make it better. For the past year, I've been debating whether or not I should get a smartphone.  With the iPhone out, I can honestly say that I am envious of all the AT&T subscribers but ONLY because they have an iPhone - not because of the service.  In my area, AT&T is terrible.  I've heard from many people that they either have their … [Read more...]

The Things That Worry Me As A Mom.

Kodak (who claims, with some clever ads on my sidebar, that we can at least partially knock off our economic worry with a printer) and JuiceBoxJungle sponsored me to write this post, and they asked me to talk about the top and bottom3 things I think/worry about as a mom.   Where do I begin?  Since I'm a mom of 3 kids (2 girls ages 10 & 4, 1 boy age 13), there are many things that I think about.  I often ask myself, are my children happy? Will they hate me if I punish them?  Am I being … [Read more...]

What an adventure, thanks to 1-800-Flowers.com!

I recently had a wonderful opportunity to join other mom bloggers and some very important people for the "Spot A Mom movement." The movement was created by 1-800-Flowers.com to honor all the moms in our lives. From our grandmothers, our moms, our aunts, to our sisters, our friends and beyond. The event was held in the penthouse at the Buckingham Hotel on 57th St. where the world-renowned Opera Singer Giovanni Martinelli once lived. First of all, the hotel is absolutely … [Read more...]
