“Family Flick Night” Gift Pack Giveaway

How does going to the movies for FREE sound to you? Sounds good, uh? I don't know about you but I don't remember the last time my family and I went to the movies. Number one reason: It's quite expensive, especially when there's five people going.  Between the movie tickets, popcorn, drinks for everyone AND candy, the price of a movie outing can easily cost approximately $60 (depending where you live). You know for $60, you can buy a few bags of groceries, right?  That is exactly why I … [Read more...]

Disney's A Christmas Carol hits stores today across the states, just in time for the holidays.  As most of you already know, A Christmas Carol has been around for many, many years.  The first publication came out on December 19, 1843 by Charles Dickens and since then, there have been lots of remakes of the movie as well as books. Ramblings: Do You Believe in Ghosts?

With Halloween just around the corner, there's tons of shows and movies on TV about ghosts, goblins and teen slashers.  But to some, ghosts are not only on the big screen. There are also tons of shows about "real" ghosts like Ghost Hunters on SyFy, The Haunted on Animal Planet, Paranormal State on A&E and many more. I was once a skeptic when it came to ghosts until I met my hubby (boyfriend back then). Although I never encountered spirits or ghosts, the stories he told would make my … [Read more...]

Disney’s Tinker Bell And The Great Fairy Rescue | Review & $10 Coupon

A brand new Disney movie is making it's debut on DVD and Blu-ray next Tuesday September 21st. It's called Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved Tinker Bell and now my two daughters love her as well -- my 5 year old especially. She has watched this movie already 6 times. It's her new favorite. Spoiler alert: My favorite part was when the father found out the real truth and stopped doubting Lizzy.  That father and daughter moment made me tear up … [Read more...]

Marmaduke | Movie Review

Marmaduke came into my life the moment I started reading the Sunday funnies.  It was the cartoon I went to first to read and laugh.  Marmaduke always made me feel giddy.  Now that I'm older, I don't even look at the funnies anymore but my kids do. I'll buy the newspaper just for the coupons -- my kids love the newspaper because of the funnies. We finally saw Marmaduke last weekend and it didn't catch the interest of my husband or my two older kids so my five year old and I stayed on the sofa … [Read more...]

James and The Giant Peach: Special Edition | Review

I recently had the opportunity to review James and the Giant Peachon blu-ray. I can't believe it's been 14 years since it was out in the theaters. I was pregnant with my son and decided to take my little sisters to see the movie. My sisters loved the movie but I wasn't too fond of it. Was it because I was pregnant and my hormones were out of whack or was it just a movie I didn't like? I don't know. Fast forward 14 years later, I decided to give the movie another try but with my kids this … [Read more...]

Tide Acti-Lift Presents The Premiere of “Ramona And Beezus”

(Note: Post is long with photos & video so please make sure to check those out! Thanks.) Waking up at 6 am is something I usually don't like doing in the summer. I'm a wahm (p/t)  so the summer days for us are also lazy days. We go to sleep late from watching TV, movies or playing games and usually the kids are sleeping til 9am. This past Tuesday was exceptionally different. Several days ago I received an invitation from a representative of Tide detergent about the upcoming advanced … [Read more...]

Movie Review: When in Rome

Over the weekend, my hubby and I had an evening to ourselves. The kids went into another room to see some shows on tv while the "lovebirds" (aka hubby & I) sat on the sofa like a couple of teenagers in love. Every time I see a romantic comedy, I get all excited. It's my favorite type of movie. I get my pillow and blanket ready to get comfy on the sofa.  It's "my" tradition when it's movie time at our house. I was really looking forward to seeing When in Rome because it came from the … [Read more...]

Decorating Cakes With Duff Goldman From Ace Of Cakes

Watching shows on Food Network has been an obsession for me since my husband and I got DirectTV when we first moved into our house.  I had no idea there was a channel dedicated to food (no, I wasn't living under a rock but it sure felt like it...lol).  I remember watching Emeril Live and Rachael Ray (they were my fave shows back then) cooking up some delicious meals,  I would get so relaxed but also wishing that I was there tasting all the yummy foods too. My obsession is still with the Food … [Read more...]
