Cutting coupons has been my obsession for as long as I can remember. Saving money is something I love to do, especially when it means that I can splurge on other things, like lattes and all that good stuff.
But when the obsession creeps into my dreams and bad things happen, then there may be a problem.
Here’s what happened in my dream:
I came in through my door from being out (I have no idea where I came from; the dream started out like that) and noticed my sitter rummaging through my stack of coupons I bought from buying several newspapers. I asked her what she was doing and she told me that she couldn’t believe all the coupons she found. She said she could save so much money so she decided to cut the ones she wanted.
I said WHAT?!
Are you crazy? Those are MY coupons that I bought and you have no right to go through my property anyway. You are solely here to watch the kids and make sure they are fed and safe – that’s all! She tried to tell me that I didn’t need them because I had lots of food in the pantry and she thought it wasn’t a big deal. I then told her what do you mean no big deal? Stealing is a big deal and that is exactly what you did. I was so furious that I tackled her to the floor and started punching her and kicking her and all of a sudden her husband pops into the dream and saves her. He told me to get off of her because I was a crazy lady and said he didn’t want his wife working for me anymore. I told him tell your wife she better hand over the coupons before she leaves or else I’m calling the police.
And then, I woke up. Actually I woke up laughing. I mean, come on, calling the police because of a coupon thief? LOL
My husband asked me why I was laughing and if I was ok? I said I just had the weirdest, demented dream ever and it had to do with coupons. And then he called me weird. I said, this time, I would have to agree with you.
So, what does that tell me? That you shouldn’t mess with a girl’s coupons or is it that I’m crazy? You be the judge.
Oh, and to make it clear. I am not, whatsoever, a violent person. I wouldn’t hurt a fly…….well, maybe I will but I would never, in a million years, do what I did in my dream.

Yesterday I attended a RedPlum event at the beautiful W Hotel – The Tuscany. The reason for the event was to showcase their Holiday gift guides for everyone you know for just under $30. The gifts are low-cost, practical and thoughtful as well. The whole area was decorated with items you can buy at their site and the tables were decorated by one of my favorite stores, Ikea. At the end of the event, they raffled off a table setting to take home from a choice of two (both were absolutely fabulous!).
MsLatina was the winner (Congrats girl) who took home a table setting of her choice.
For more information on Redplum’s Chic & Cheap Holiday Gift Guide for under $30 & more, click HERE.
Below are some photos of the wonderful decorated tables, the fabulous & very yummy Redplumtini’s and some friends to celebrate the infamous Wordless Wednesday (in this case, an almost wordless Wednesday).

It was so nice connecting with Heidi, Dina & MsLatina. And of course, the RedPlum team. Thanks for inviting me and for the cool swag bag!

When I first started this blog, it was an outlet; a way of sharing my life, motherhood, marriage, my likes & dislikes and saving money with stores like CVS. I haven’t done that in awhile so I have a very special guest, Yoly, aka @cuponeando on Twitter and she will explain to you the best way to save money with coupons and get the best bang for your buck.
Nowadays, we’re all looking for ways to stretch our dollars and one way to keep more of it in your pocket is using coupons. In this post I’ll share with you five steps you can take to start saving more money for your family with coupons:
1. Start by setting a budget and get the cash. We used to have a budget amount we should have followed …but most of the time once in the store we blew it. Once we switched to cash it kept us from buying unnecessary items. When setting what amount to spend take into consideration how many meals will you be preparing a week and how often will you go to the store.
2. Get your coupons. The Sunday paper is still the best way to get coupons. Usually you get a couple of circulars with lots of coupons. Also, keep your eyes open when going to the supermarket, you can find coupons (called blinkies) in the aisles on certain products. You don’t have to use these right away. The same goes with Internet or printable coupons. Print the ones from your favorite brands or products you want to try. Read the rest of this entry →

For me, saving money means buying things when they are on sale and also using coupons to save even more. I like to buy extra newspapers so that I can have extra coupons for the items I use alot, like cereals, juice and breakfast foods. I have 3 kids under 12 so I have to keep a full pantry of food or else I keep hearing “Mom, there’s nothing to eat, I’m hungry!”. And I don’t want to hear that! Who does?
I know it’s alot of work to cut and sort coupons and most people don’t have the time to sit down for an hour or two to cut them (cut coupons while you watch TV, I do it all the time) but if you spend that extra time cutting coupons from the newspaper and/or the web, you can score some pretty good deals or better yet, you can get stuff for FREE!
That’s right, I said free! Read the rest of this entry →
