We Remember – 10 Years Later – 9/11/11

The first time I wrote about 9/11 was in 2009.  It was my second year of blogging.  The last post happened the following year in 2010.  This year marks the tenth anniversary of the tragedy that made America stronger, unfortunately. Do you remember where you were on that horrible day? Like many people, I remember it so well.  It was my son's first day of school. My husband and I were first-time homeowners for a full four months. It was a new beginning for us.  I never thought in a hundred … [Read more...]

Giada De Laurentiis For Target Collection Event

I was watching The Talk yesterday after hearing that Giada De Laurentiis will be on and ONLY because she would be on the show and that is when I remembered.  Holy Moley, I never posted about the event that I attended with the one and only Giada De Laurentiis. By the way, The Talk is NOT the same without Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete so I won't be watching often.  I was definitely turned off when I heard the awful news that Leah and Holly would no longer be on the show. For whatever … [Read more...]

Just One More Day

That's it. Summer has come to an end. And just like that school is about to begin -- just one more day. What are we doing today? Getting everything ready to have a successful morning and rest of the week. Brand new clothes gave been washed (don't like kids wearing new clothes without laundering), bookbags are stocked with all the essentials and too much more (why do teachers ask for SO MUCH? wipes, dry erase markers, 12 glue sticks, 3 dozen pencils - are the kids supplying for the whole … [Read more...]

Marie Callender’s Baked Meals Review

Last night, I told the kids we were going to have lasagna for dinner.  Since my kids love pasta, they were ecstatic about dinner, that is until I told them we were going to try a frozen lasagna.  They weren't too happy about my decision but they understood why. I always tell them that mommy's a blogger and as a blogger I get opportunities to review products and food.  For me, it's fun to be able to taste-test new foods because I can let my readers know what my family and I enjoy … [Read more...]

Starbuck’s Bistro Boxes Review

We definitely live in a world where everyone is in a hurry and every thing seems to be happening fast.  And while living a fast-paced lifestyle, there are many unhealthy options when it comes to foods, such as fast food joints.  The few healthy places to eat are limited and quite expensive. At Starbucks, they don't want to discourage a speedy lifestyle but help make it a more enjoyable experience with their brand new line of Bistro Boxes. They are healthy, delicious and did I mention they are … [Read more...]

Happy Birthday AND Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was my son's birthday. We didn't make a big fuss because that's what he wanted. I did make him breakfast though (something I hate doing!) and gave him hugs and kisses. My husband came home to take him for a haircut and spend some quality time with his only son but then had to leave again for duty.  But shhh, don't tell anyone. Well today is another special day. It's my husband's birthday. As much as I want him to have his special day, today also marks a day that means a lot … [Read more...]

I’m a Mom to a 15-Year-old!

So I'm officially a mom of a 15-year old. Well technically it won't be until 10:17 pm. How did that happen? It was just yesterday that I was holding him in my arms at the young age of 21. I was a young mom but I definitely had the motherly instincts when it came to caring for my baby. Maybe it's because I've always loved kids. I remember vividly when I was in third grade, I mentioned to my teacher that I wanted to have my first baby at 21 and I wanted a boy because my family was filled … [Read more...]
