Father’s Day Frosty Weekend: Help the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption

Kristin Chenoweth has recently partnered with Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to help them raise awareness for foster care adoption. An adoptee herself, she has become a huge face for the cause and has re-confirmed her commitment this week by coming out to support the Foundation in their annual marquee program – Father’s Day Frosty Weekend. During Father's Day Frosty Weekend (June 19 and 20), Wendy's will donate 50-cents from every Frosty product sold to the Dave Thomas Foundation for … [Read more...]

Father’s Day Gift Guide With TJ Maxx & Marshall’s

Father's Day is this Sunday (how did that happen?) and if you haven't bought your dad or husband a gift, don't fret - there's still time and great gift ideas for that special man in your life. I recently went to my local Marshall's store to check out some cool gifts for my darling husband.  I was thinking of getting him something for our upcoming road trip that we are taking next week so I decided on a few shirts (shhh, don't tell him) that I hope he likes. Here is what I got him: I got … [Read more...]

Did Anyone Guess Right….

on my WW post? This post was fun even though I only got a few answers. Unfortunately no one was right. Rachel said it was jam.  Yona thought it had some avocado in it.  Tracey hoped for pesto and Michele thought it was colored sugar. So, are you ready to find out what the "Green Goodness" was? It was homemade GARLIC PASTE!! Somehow the garlic turned green when my husband added a touch of vinegar into the mixture of garlic, a dash of salt, oregano and butter after putting it in the … [Read more...]

I Love Summer But….

When I want my kids to go to bed at a decent time, they don't. Why? Because they say it's still light out. My five year old says "mom, it's not time for bed yet - I can still see the trees.  When it's night time and I can't see the trees anymore, then it's bedtime." WTH? Don't get me wrong. I love the long summer days when you can hang out and enjoy the night time air but when it comes to putting my kids to bed so I can spend some quality time with my hubby, I can't. Maybe I … [Read more...]

During this summer, every Tuesday and Wednesday, Regal Cinemas will be featuring a movie that was once on the big screen for the low, low price of FREE! ;) Who doesn't love anything free?? I know I'll be participating in this … [Read more...]

20 Things You Should Never Buy Used

I'm a big believer of reusing and recycling.  I have bought lots of things that were used whether it be online or at a garage sale. I've even bought a used laptop from Ebay that is still in pretty good working condition.  However, there are some things that shouldn't be bought if it's been used. Here is a list I have found while browsing thru yahoo.com: 1. Cribs and children's furniture: If there's any chance that you'll put your children at risk by buying used, just buy new. Used … [Read more...]

Three Graduations and A Wedding Anniversary

What a week it has been. For the past few days, I've been trying to get things ready (clothes and necessities) for all of my kids graduations. My son, my first-born, had his graduation last night.  Even though it felt like the longest graduation known ever, it was great to see his smiling face as he took his diploma from the principal on stage. All three kids are graduating this year and will be in  new schools. Wow, how times flies! My kids are ecstatic to start on their new … [Read more...]
