Ramblings: My Weekend in a Nutshell ~ July 4th

Hey everyone! How was your 4th of July? I hope you all had a wonderful 4th! As for me, my weekend was great. I spent it with my lovely family. The best part was that it was low-key and without a schedule. I also cleaned, I cooked many meals and I baked a cake. Which also means I ate a lot -- more than I would like to admit. I did do a few squats here and there but it's nothing like doing the squat challenge - which I've got to start again. I also did the treadmill. I probably burned … [Read more...]

{Recipe} Limber de Coco – Coconut Cream Ice Pops (or cups)

If you gave me a choice between winter and summer, I would definitely have to choose the latter. Summer is a time to enjoy the outdoors and spend plenty of time with your family by the beach or the pool. When I was a kid, my parents used to vacation in Lancaster, PA. We'd visit my aunts, uncles and cousins and explore the area. My aunt was a stay at home mom so to make extra money, she would sell frozen kool-aid in small cups for twenty-five cents each. She would make yummy and refreshing … [Read more...]

Happy Valentine’s Day: I’ll Always Be Daddy’s Little Girl

While organizing my closet this past weekend, I came upon a large envelope with pictures, old birthday cards and a few of my high school papers (Yes, I'm a bit of a hoarder! LOL). Being that today is Valentine's Day, I thought it was perfect to post one of my favorite items I found. It was a greeting card from my dad from 1987. I was thirteen years old. Same age as my daughter now. It brought me so much joy and relief to know that I never throw away old greeting cards - EVER! I'll always … [Read more...]

A Thousand Years Younger.

Today's my birthday. I'm a thousand years younger - according to my 7 year old. It's actually something she said when I came home last Thursday from getting my hair highlighted, cut and straighten. As soon as I got home, she shouted, "Mommy, you look a thousand years younger"! I thought that was so cute. My kids rarely see me with my hair straighten. Honestly, I rarely get my hair done professionally. The last time I went to a salon was over a year ago. After I get my hair done, I vow … [Read more...]
