Disney’s Tinker Bell And The Great Fairy Rescue | Review & $10 Coupon

A brand new Disney movie is making it's debut on DVD and Blu-ray next Tuesday September 21st. It's called Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved Tinker Bell and now my two daughters love her as well -- my 5 year old especially. She has watched this movie already 6 times. It's her new favorite. Spoiler alert: My favorite part was when the father found out the real truth and stopped doubting Lizzy.  That father and daughter moment made me tear up … [Read more...]

Marmaduke | Movie Review

Marmaduke came into my life the moment I started reading the Sunday funnies.  It was the cartoon I went to first to read and laugh.  Marmaduke always made me feel giddy.  Now that I'm older, I don't even look at the funnies anymore but my kids do. I'll buy the newspaper just for the coupons -- my kids love the newspaper because of the funnies. We finally saw Marmaduke last weekend and it didn't catch the interest of my husband or my two older kids so my five year old and I stayed on the sofa … [Read more...]

The Secrets Of Chefs: What They’ll Never Tell You

As a mom of 3 very hungry children,  I often cook dinner almost every day of the week. It's more economical, I know exactly what I putting into every dish I make and the kids love a home-cooked meal, especially my husband.  But for me, time away from the kitchen is a blessing in disguise.   I don't have to worry about what to make, what time I should start dinner and the mess that is made after everything is done. I love to cook but the one thing I do not like is cleaning the kitchen after … [Read more...]

James and The Giant Peach: Special Edition | Review

I recently had the opportunity to review James and the Giant Peachon blu-ray. I can't believe it's been 14 years since it was out in the theaters. I was pregnant with my son and decided to take my little sisters to see the movie. My sisters loved the movie but I wasn't too fond of it. Was it because I was pregnant and my hormones were out of whack or was it just a movie I didn't like? I don't know. Fast forward 14 years later, I decided to give the movie another try but with my kids this … [Read more...]

The Latest in Microwave Technology: True Cook Plus

Last month I had an opportunity to check out the latest technology in microwaves called True Cook Plus, thanks to my friend Kimberly Coleman from Mominthecity.com. The event was held at City Treehouse in Chelsea on a beautiful New York City afternoon (check out the slide show at the bottom of this post featuring the microwave, food and City Treehouse). While the kids played in the play area, the parents/bloggers learned how True Cook Plus works, which is a microwave technology that cooks … [Read more...]

Did you know that Staples have declared July 14th as the official day for back to school shopping? (I know it's August but life gets in the way of blogging sometimes ;)) Yes, you read that right. While everyone is still enjoying the beach, pool, swimming and the sun, Staples has countless amounts of school supplies on their shelves ready for your child. I was recently invited to a Staples event in New York City to check out the latest in school supplies for back to school.  They have … [Read more...]

The Good and The Bad of BlogHer ’10 – August 6-7

I can't believe it! I did it! I survived BlogHer '10. If you haven't heard what BlogHer is (who hasn't?), it's a blogging conference where women (& some dad bloggers too) gather together and share their views and opinions on anything and everything through their blogs.  They blog about parenting, cooking, places to see and eat, traveling -- basically anything you can think of, someone is blogging about it. The conference is an event that happens once a year since 2005 and it consists of … [Read more...]

Oxy Clinical NYC Event With Before & After Photos

Written by Jessica C. Two weeks ago, I was privileged to represent New York Chica and attend the Oxy Clinical event. Having suffered from acne throughout my teenage years as well as a young adult, I couldn't wait to find out how Oxy Clinical worked. So...what is Oxy Clinical? Oxy Clinical is an over-the-counter acne medication that offers breakthrough complexion care, providing pharmaceutical-grade medications and continuous-release technology to treat, heal and help prevent acne … [Read more...]

The American Museum of Natural History Introduces Their New Explorer App

Yesterday I attended an event at the Museum of Natural History for their media preview to showcase their newest and latest creation - The Explorer App for iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch. The app is amazing and if you have either of these devices; iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch, you won't need the paper map and we can all help save some trees by not using the map. How's that for helping the planet? ;) Earlier this year, the museum launched its first iPhone app - Dinosaurs: The American Museum of … [Read more...]
