New York State has had a cellular phone law since December 2001 with a fine of $100 if a person is caught with a hand-held phone. I'll be honest with you and say I was one of those people who broke that law. But shhh, don't let anyone know, let it be our secret. ;) I'm glad to say that ever since I was sent a Jabra STONE Bluetooth Headset With Extreme Noise Blocking, I haven't broken any laws and life has been less on the edge and I feel safer driving with my blue tooth on my ear instead of … [Read more...]

Mom Ramblings: Motherhood And Blogging Are A Lot Like Oil And Water
It's true. When comparing motherhood and blogging, oil and water comes to mind. Sometimes it's so hard for me to mix the two. Somewhere along the line I have to find balance but motherhood usually wins. I have three children, I can't help it. I'm a mom first, then a blogger -- the way is should be, right? This summer has been extremely busy and full of swimming lessons and camp a few days a week for my younger two. So when there are no lessons or camp and the weather is way too hot to … [Read more...]
Thanks to U.S. News, Here Are 15 Things You Should Not Be Paying For
There ARE some things in life that are free or almost free. You just need to do your research and/or ask around. 1. Basic Computer Software -- Thinking of purchasing a new computer? Think twice before you fork over the funds for a bunch of extra software. There are some great alternatives to the name brand software programs. The most notable is OpenOffice, the open-source alternative to those other guys. It's completely free and files can be exported in compatible formats. 2. Your Credit … [Read more...]
Wordless Wednesday – 16 Years Ago
My Dad left us 16 years ago. It was his time to go to heaven. I still miss him dearly and I know one day we we'll see each other again. R.I.P. Papi. Last Sunday I totally forgot to post my Shout-Out Sunday so this week will feature the special people I met at BlogHer '10. In case you don't know about Shout-Out Sunday, click here and find out ;) I hope you … [Read more...]
Lancaster, PA – Road Trip With The Family: Part 2. VW Style
Disclosure: The Volkswagen Routan was given to us as a loaner for review purposes only. It was made possible by the MWW Group. Thank you so much for making our road trip "extra special" Amy. ;) OK, so it's been a long 49 days since our family road trip with the star of the trip, the Volkswagen Routan. I know, I know. That was way over a month ago and you must be thinking, ok, why is she writing about this now? Honestly, life got in the way especially when there's kids involved and … [Read more...]
James and The Giant Peach: Special Edition | Review
I recently had the opportunity to review James and the Giant Peachon blu-ray. I can't believe it's been 14 years since it was out in the theaters. I was pregnant with my son and decided to take my little sisters to see the movie. My sisters loved the movie but I wasn't too fond of it. Was it because I was pregnant and my hormones were out of whack or was it just a movie I didn't like? I don't know. Fast forward 14 years later, I decided to give the movie another try but with my kids this … [Read more...]
The Latest in Microwave Technology: True Cook Plus
Last month I had an opportunity to check out the latest technology in microwaves called True Cook Plus, thanks to my friend Kimberly Coleman from Mominthecity.com. The event was held at City Treehouse in Chelsea on a beautiful New York City afternoon (check out the slide show at the bottom of this post featuring the microwave, food and City Treehouse). While the kids played in the play area, the parents/bloggers learned how True Cook Plus works, which is a microwave technology that cooks … [Read more...]
