Kick Off the First Day of Summer with Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

Like I said before, I'm a kid at heart. I love animated movies and any movies suitable for children.  It's something I can watch and not worry if something inappropriate will "show up" and make my eyes bleed knowing my kids saw something that wasn't for their innocent eyes (I'm really referring to my 6 y/o - the other two know more than I think they know!). The one movie I did enjoy and saw dozens of times with my kids was Diary of a Wimpy Kid, based on the best-selling book series by … [Read more...]

Gnomeo & Juliet on Blu-Ray + DVD | Giveaway!

It's almost here! Gnomeo & Juliet on Blu-ray and DVD! On May 24th, Gnomeo & Juliet will make their first appearance on Blu-ray and DVD nationally. As you may recall, I was one of the very lucky bloggers who went to Hollywood for the Gnomeo & Juliet Junket back in January where we all saw Gnomeo & Juliet for the first time before ANYONE! It was an experience of a lifetime and one that I will always remember, thanks to Disney. From the director (Kelly Asbury) of Shrek 2, … [Read more...]

Gno’ More Waiting. Gnomeo and Juliet in 3D is HERE!

That's right folks -- "Gno'" more waiting to see Disney's newest movie, Gnomeo and Juliet in 3D.  It's finally here.  Touchstone's newest picture, Gnomeo and Juliet brings a comical, off-the-wall makeover of Shakespeare's original Romeo and Juliet filled with feuds, revenge, love and death (it's very subtle - trust me) in a comical and G-Rated way.  The theme of the movie is that love can overcome hate, no matter where you're from. The movie is set on Verona Drive -- kind of like Verona, … [Read more...]

Marmaduke | Movie Review

Marmaduke came into my life the moment I started reading the Sunday funnies.  It was the cartoon I went to first to read and laugh.  Marmaduke always made me feel giddy.  Now that I'm older, I don't even look at the funnies anymore but my kids do. I'll buy the newspaper just for the coupons -- my kids love the newspaper because of the funnies. We finally saw Marmaduke last weekend and it didn't catch the interest of my husband or my two older kids so my five year old and I stayed on the sofa … [Read more...]

Tide Acti-Lift Presents The Premiere of “Ramona And Beezus”

(Note: Post is long with photos & video so please make sure to check those out! Thanks.) Waking up at 6 am is something I usually don't like doing in the summer. I'm a wahm (p/t)  so the summer days for us are also lazy days. We go to sleep late from watching TV, movies or playing games and usually the kids are sleeping til 9am. This past Tuesday was exceptionally different. Several days ago I received an invitation from a representative of Tide detergent about the upcoming advanced … [Read more...]

I Heart Jonas

This past weekend, my daughter and her friends were just hanging out in her room just playing and talking until I showed them the brand new I Heart Jonas on DVD.  They quickly changed their minds about just talking and wanted to watch the Jonas on the big screen.  I had popcorn and soda all ready for them and they were in heaven.  You see, the girls are big Jonas fans and I could understand why.  The boys are pretty cute and sweet too.  I know if I was their age, I would have a crush on them but … [Read more...]

The Boys Are Back | Movie Review

I received The Boys Are Back on DVD a few weeks ago but it wasn't until last night that I was able to finally view it. If you haven't seen the movie when it came out in theaters, don't fret - It comes out on DVD today so you can rent it or better yet buy the DVD because it was a great movie.  In my opinion, if a movie makes you cry or even make your eyes water just a bit, then it did its job. The Boys Are Back was inspired by a true story and directed by Scott Hicks.  Joe Warr, played by … [Read more...]

Disney’s Handy Manny Motorcycle Adventure

When the Disney Channel first aired Handy Manny, my kids and I were curious to see what it was all about.  I don't often speak Spanish around them which I know isn't good for them but I grew up in a household where English was the number one language.  I guess I got used to it. Handy Manny is a bi-lingual show about a Hispanic handyman and his animated, talking tools.  The show teaches young children the beginnings of Spanish and the importance of cultural diversity.  Learning Spanish while … [Read more...]

Movies that are a Must-See for the Whole Family.

Over the thanksgiving break, my family and I went on a movie watching frenzy.  The two movies that we all loved was the Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian with Ben Stiller and Imagine That with Eddie Murphy.  They were both great family movies that everyone will enjoy, especially if you’re a family that has a HUGE imagination, like ours. Imagine That is a movie full of imagination (hence the word), mishaps and fantasy.  The father (Eddie Murphy) is a very busy, competitive money … [Read more...]
