The Boys Are Back | Movie Review

I received The Boys Are Back on DVD a few weeks ago but it wasn’t until last night that I was able to finally view it. If you haven’t seen the movie when it came out in theaters, don’t fret – It comes out on DVD today so you can rent it or better yet buy the DVD because it was a great movie.  In my opinion, if a movie makes you cry or even make your eyes water just a bit, then it did its job.

The Boys Are Back was inspired by a true story and directed by Scott Hicks.  Joe Warr, played by Clive Owen, is suddenly a single parent due to unforeseen circumstances and he finds himself completely lost without his wife to face the challenges of a demanding job, running a household and being both a mother and father to his two sons.

So get your box of tissues ready because this movie will definitely touch your heart as well as your soul.

  1. Enjoyed your review. I reviewed it on my blog back in October from the perspective of someone who was also widowed with a young child. Looking forward to having it on DVD now!

    Thanks!

  2. Hi..
I have been meaning to see this movie for a while…Clive Owen was on Ellen last year promoting the movie & the best part was he couldn’t stop talking about where the movie was shot, the landscape, the beach shots & the scenery. This movie was shot in Adelaide South Australia, which is where I live.. So now I need to watch this movie as well

    cheers
