My Day At The Hudson Valley Garlic Festival

Today I took my girls to the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival in Saugerties, New York. It was a beautiful day to walk around in the fresh air that was infused by garlic everywhere. I don't know about you but I am in love with garlic. I add garlic to almost every meal. If you know me and have had the chance to be THISCLOSE to me ;), chances are I probably smell like a garlic clove, which is ok by me.  Garlic is good stuff.  It's good for the body (lowers your cholesterol, regulates your blood … [Read more...]

Sunday’s Storm

Earlier today the tri-state area was issued a tornado warning. How crazy is that?! In New York? Yup! I know a few years ago there was a small tornado that hit a few houses several miles away so tornadoes are not a rare thing in New York, unfortunately. Anyway, before taking the video below, my husband and I were just chilling out on the sofa when suddenly we heard lots of rain & thunder.  So we looked outside and this is what we saw: Thunder Storm in NY from New York Chica … [Read more...]

Banana Shpeel by Cirque du Soleil

cirque

Cirque du Soleil was started in 1984 by two former street performers, Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier in Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec. After much success over the next few years, they managed to win the 1991 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience and they continue to wow their audience. There is no other show quite like Cirque du Soleil.  The first and only time I ever saw the show was in 1994, when they celebrated their tenth anniversary.  It was the most amazing show I have ever … [Read more...]

I can’t believe this crap!

The New York Post has printed a very disturbing picture in yesterday's newspaper.  Someone created a picture showing two police officers and a gunned down chimp.  They are referring the chimp to President Obama, which to me is very disrespectful. He is our president whether we like it or not.  He is doing the best that he can. I don't think anyone deserves this. Also, at this very moment, there are people protesting the picture and many people want The New York Post shut down because … [Read more...]
