Semi-Wordless Wednesday: Can You Find Me? (W/ Linky)

It's that time again. Happy Hump Day. I bet you all can't wait for the weekend. As for me, I can't wait for my hubby to get home. He's in the National Guard so he's helping out people in need during the disaster that Hurricane Irene left. Anyway, I was looking through my papers, as I do every week and I came across a picture I took from my mom. My kids love seeing photos of me when I was a kid as much as I do. Sometimes they even say I still look the same. I wonder if they're just saying that … [Read more...]

Champion SHAPE™: Looking and Feeling Great While Getting fit

I have a huge confession to make here. It's something I don't tell people very often and it's something I haven't spoken to my husband about but I've decided to share this dreadful confession with you, my lovely readers. Why? Because I desperately want to try to lose at least 20-25 pounds.  So here it goes.... I'm overweight. For those of you who have met me in person, you may be (possibly) saying, nah, Lisa's not overweight, but if you look below -- I am. I'm 5'2 and I weigh … [Read more...]

Before & After Hurricane #Irene

What's going on in my life here in New York......thanks to Hurricane Irene. Rain is pouring down, as I write this. Rain has been falling since yesterday afternoon. My garage is flooded. Half of my driveway/backyard looks like a small lake. {fyi: That pipe across the driveway is a make-shift sump pump that hubby created to divert rain water. Too bad it's not working today} My husband was activated to the National Guard to help out with emergencies and possible disasters so he's … [Read more...]

I’m Teaming with the Tropicana OJ Express at Grand Central Terminal in NYC

I'm thrilled to be a part of the Tropicana Team as one of their TropiMomma Ambassadors. I've been a Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice consumer for as long as I can remember and it's a product I believe in and buy every week for my family. According to a Tropicana survey, one in four Americans start the day off in a bad mood.  I hate to say that I am THAT one.  It's the "waking up early" part that I dislike.  I love mornings but I wish I wasn't exhausted as soon as I get up. It does change … [Read more...]

August 18, 1994

August 18, 1994. A day that came too quickly. A day I thought would be nothing special besides my cousin's birthday who lives in Florida. A day I will never forget because it's the day I lost my father.  My dad. My papi. A day that shocked my whole family and all who knew him. A day that will never be forgotten. A day that brings back memories of the day he handed me beneficiary papers just a few months before. A day I often wonder if he knew his "time" was near. A day … [Read more...]
