Winner! $10 Walmart Gift Card Giveaway {& Some Rambling Too.}

Sorry for the delay folks but I was out practically all week preparing for the weekend.  My family got together this past Saturday to celebrate my grandmother's 74th birthday at her house so I was quite the busy bee. I just wanted to let everyone know that I truly adore my abuela (grandma). She is the world to me so spending quality time with my grandma and the rest of the family is definitely something I enjoy and will cherish for years to come.  Things like that are priceless - there's no … [Read more...]

Wordless Wednesday: Carlo’s Bake Shop, Iguana’s Cafe & More

Last Friday, my sister and I ventured out to Hoboken, N.J. to pick up her birthday cake.  She wanted no other cake but from Carlo's Bake Shop. After we picked up the cake, we headed out to the city to celebrate her last year being in her twenties at Iguana's Cafe in New York City with our friends and family. Below are a few of the MANY photos we took on Friday. Enjoy! We had a fabulous time with our family and friends.  It was great to end the night with a great piece of cake too. … [Read more...]

DOVE and iVillage Event – A Huge Success!

Where can you get in a chocolate coma and drink unlimited, delicious Gallo wine? Can't think of anywhere, huh? Me neither! ;) I was so thankful and excited to be invited to an afternoon of indulgent moments hosted by DOVE and iVillage last month.  I wrote about the event a few days before the festivities and was happy a few of the people that commented enjoyed their time there as well. Once I got to Chelsea market, I found a few friends (Ofelia, Tracey & Issa) that were there … [Read more...]

A Look on What We Did for Easter.

This year we decided to stay home on Easter and spend time with the kids. Usually we go out to an Easter egg hunt, go to church (a rarely thing) or go to family's house. We knew it would be a beautiful day in New York but we were in the mood to just relax before the hectic week of going back to the grind of school and work. We colored and decorated eggs and watched movies.  It was an awesome and peaceful day. For dinner, we ordered Domino's Pizza and it was superb.  They definitely changed … [Read more...]

Nickelodeon Presents Nick Jr. Storytime Live!

This past Wednesday, I took the kids to see Nick Jr. Storytime Live! at Radio City Music Hall, courtesy of MSG.  Before the show had started, we were able to have a meet & greet with two characters, Tyrone & Tasha from the show, The Backyardigans. My daughter was skeptical about taking photos with "people in costumes" (her words) so I decided to pose with them instead. The show consists of four different stories with Kai Lan, The Backyardigans, The Wonder Pets and Dora the … [Read more...]

Wordless Wednesday – A Piece of History, A Piece of My Childhood, Almost Gone!

I'm speechless. I don't know what to say. I could not help but noticed what's being done to the old Yankee Stadium.  I'm shocked! I had to take pictures while waiting at a red light heading to my mom's house. I knew this day would come but to see it in real life, it's just blows my mind. A piece of history will soon be gone forever. A piece of my childhood will soon be gone forever. Damn, I feel old and depressed looking at these pictures.  I wonder what my Dad is saying in … [Read more...]

Olay Total Effects Body Wash – Review & Giveaway

Ever since I was a little girl, mi abuela (my grandma) always told me to make sure I use moisturizer everyday and to protect my skin when I'm outdoors with sunscreen. She should know, her skin is phenomenal - so soft and young looking considering she is in her 70's. When I was a teenager, I caught my dad applying my mom's Oil of Olay face lotion. I laughed because I told him that was for women. He stated it's face moisturizer with hardly any scent so it's perfect for men too - you should … [Read more...]

Word Up with WordGirl: Earth Day Girl! – Review

PBS Kids is one channel I don't mind my daughter watching at any given day.  What's not to love about shows that teaches kids how to spell, learn new words and see some bad guys get justice. WordGirl is a new animated series that follows the every day life and superhero adventures of "WordGirl" along with her monkey sidekick Captain Huggy Face, as she fights crime, quirky villains and enriches vocabulary usage, all in a day's work. The best part of WordGirl is that she is well-mannered 5th … [Read more...]
