Happy “Late” Father’s Day

(This post was scheduled for Monday but for some reason, it was never posted, so here it is.....days later) This past Sunday was a very special day to all the Dad's out there that are active in their kid's life.  I say "active" because there are many father's out there that don't even acknowledge that they have kids so the moms have to be both Mom and Dad. So to those moms, Happy Father's Day to you too!  I hope it was a good day. I was one of the lucky ones. My Dad was a wonderful … [Read more...]

My Linky Love for the week.

I've been seeing this at Hissip, my favorite Latina gossip site and she does this every week.  So I decided it was time to do it here and represent some of the sites I love. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ This would make everyone put a smile on their face! How about having a lock and key for the GoldCity? Who says loving your husband isn't cool? This mom begs to differ! I knew people were going to have a hard time with Entrecard as soon as they started those darn paid … [Read more...]

Just one of those days…

Well, I have to say it's just one of those days.  My week hasn't been the best week because of me not feeling well and it won't be a great weekend either. I was super excited about the Big Apple BBQ Block Party happening today and tomorrow but my vehicle decided to tell me otherwise.  I'm having car trouble so that leaves me to stay home, which isn't a bad thing but I really wanted to eat some BBQ ribs, chicken, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, drink some beer and interact with people. I … [Read more...]

I always get burned!

When it comes to cooking, most of the time I get burned.  Since I'm trying to do so many things at once,  sometimes I forget that the pots are hot. Oh and don't get me started on breaking fights/arguments, telling my kids to keep it down or even hearing my 4 year old cry about something.  I'm lucky to have dinner in less than an hour most days. Yesterday when I was cooking dinner, my daughter started talking to me about school, which isn't an unusual thing.   She loves to talk about school … [Read more...]

EA SPORTS Active Event in NYC

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.  I had a nice, kind-of relaxing weekend.  I spent all weekend cleaning, organizing, fixing and moving furniture (hubby did the moving but I supervised, lol). I've been meaning to publish this post all week but I haven't had the time to finish so finally, here it is. Last Monday, I attended the EA SPORTS Active event in New York City. The event was held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel on Times Square.  First of all, the hotel is fabulous. It … [Read more...]

Ready for a laugh?

My husband is addicted to watching Jerry Springer.  Everyone knows that crazy, wild show, right? Well,  since he is not here during the day, he records the show so he can watch it at night.  He usually watches it when the kids are in bed and I'm on the computer because sometimes those people on that show are just plain dumb, I can't bear to watch it.  Other times, I can't help but watch it because it is so damn interesting and entertaining too. This particular episode had us both laughing so … [Read more...]

The Big Apple BBQ Block Party.

This party is going to be HUGE!! It's being sponsored by Everyday with Rachael Ray magazine and Snapple drinks. Tons of barbecue pit masters from all over the country will be there showing off their skills on making the best BBQ ribs and other foods. There will also be music, live cooking demos, free stuff and more! I can't wait to go.  I can taste some BBQ ribs right about now. YUM! Here are the details: Saturday and Sunday, June 13 & 14 11AM - 7PM Madison Square Park New … [Read more...]

Did anyone see this?

This photo opp costs New York State taxpayers a whopping $328,835. A nice chunk of change if you ask me. By the way, the White House aide that is responsible for this photo, resigned. Hmmm, I wonder why. *Photo Credit: MSNBC … [Read more...]
