EA SPORTS Active Event in NYC

easportspicI hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.  I had a nice, kind-of relaxing weekend.  I spent all weekend cleaning, organizing, fixing and moving furniture (hubby did the moving but I supervised, lol).

I’ve been meaning to publish this post all week but I haven’t had the time to finish so finally, here it is.

Last Monday, I attended the EA SPORTS Active event in New York City. The event was held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel on Times Square.  First of all, the hotel is fabulous. It was my first time ever in that hotel. The inside of the Marriott reminded me of a resort in Disney World.  It was that spectacular.

Besides the hotel being so nice, I was really excited about attending the event.  Since I’ve been following the 12 challengers that signed up for the 30 Day Challenge on the EA SPORTS active game for the Nintendo Wii,  I wanted to see what the hype was all about.

I was excited because not only was I going to see my friends whom I met during the 1-800-Flowers event, I was going to finally meet other mom bloggers too, from blogs that I read all the time.

This event was to get all of challengers of the 30 Day Challenge to meet up at the end of their challenge.  I met Renée from Cutie Booty Cakes, Monica from Mommy Brain Reports, Julie from Momspective & The Wii Mommies, Jennifer from the Mom Bloggers Club, Kathryn Peck, a PR Manager for EA Sports Active & also Ms. Active_girl on Twitter and Jen Riley, also a PR manager for EA SPORTS Active.  I know I didn’t mention everyone that I met but you all were not forgotten.   It was nice meeting all of you.

My daughter and my sister was even there!

My daughter and my sister were there too!

I had such a great time. I even had a drink named after me.

It started by me asking the bartender there if she had Prosecco or champagne, pineapple and/or cranberry juice. To my amazement, she had all three. She then explained to me that it was called a Champagne Bay Breeze but someone said we should name it the New York Chica. Hey, nothing wrong with that.   It turned out to be a huge hit.  I saw practically all the ladies with one in their hands. It was that good!

It was also great to see Carol, Nikki and Nichelle again.  They are very kind, friendly women.  It’s like I’ve known them for years.  I can’t wait to see them again.

OK, before I get carried away with my newly found friends, let’s back to the real deal here.

Basically, the EA SPORTS Active game is like having your very own personal trainer right in the comfort of your home.  Being a stay at home mom, I think this is going to be huge because a lot of moms like me either don’t have the money to hire a personal trainer, can’t afford a membership to the gym or just don’t have the time to go.  This is perfect for virtually anyone, even if you’re not a mom.

This is what EA SPORTS Active says:

Developed exclusively for the Wii™ by EA Canada, EA SPORTS Active is an innovative, virtual fitness product that offers personalized, customizable workouts that can be done from the comfort of home. Developed in collaboration with fitness experts, including Bob Greene – renowned exercise physiologist, author and Oprah’s personal trainer – EA SPORTS Active is a fun and cost-effective way to achieve a healthy lifestyle. The product will be the first in a new line of EA SPORTS virtual fitness products to improve the well-being of people of all ages.
