The Dirty Dancing® 25th Anniversary Celebration ~ Hosted by Skinny Cow® Productions

Movie making has changed dramatically over the past few decades. Now, many individuals have the option to choose movie theaters that have surround sound and 3D effects and also purchase Blue Ray DVD's. All of these advanced technology for movie viewing is great, but sometimes I enjoy watching a movie the way I did growing up -- the classic way. One of my ultimate favorite classic movie is Dirty Dancing®. I've watched the movie Dirty Dancing® numerous times, and even bought the soundtrack … [Read more...]

A Visit to New York City For The #LowesChallenge Event

I was invited by Lowe's to attend their Designer Challenge a few weeks ago.  Little did I know I would also meet my long time friend, Jai from Mami's Time Out. I was psyched. We have been online friends for about 7-8 years -- way before we started blogging.  It all started in an iVillage.com message board called Latina Beauty.  We learned a lot about each other and soon we decided to start our very own blogs. Meeting Jai in person was the highlight of my day.  I'm sure there will be other … [Read more...]

Wordless Wednesday: Missing My City

New York City is beautiful. Loud and sometimes dirty, but always beautiful. I don't remember the last time I was in the city but I'm itching to go very soon! Enjoy your Wednesday! … [Read more...]

We Remember – 10 Years Later – 9/11/11

The first time I wrote about 9/11 was in 2009.  It was my second year of blogging.  The last post happened the following year in 2010.  This year marks the tenth anniversary of the tragedy that made America stronger, unfortunately. Do you remember where you were on that horrible day? Like many people, I remember it so well.  It was my son's first day of school. My husband and I were first-time homeowners for a full four months. It was a new beginning for us.  I never thought in a hundred … [Read more...]

I’m Teaming with the Tropicana OJ Express at Grand Central Terminal in NYC

I'm thrilled to be a part of the Tropicana Team as one of their TropiMomma Ambassadors. I've been a Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice consumer for as long as I can remember and it's a product I believe in and buy every week for my family. According to a Tropicana survey, one in four Americans start the day off in a bad mood.  I hate to say that I am THAT one.  It's the "waking up early" part that I dislike.  I love mornings but I wish I wasn't exhausted as soon as I get up. It does change … [Read more...]

Cooking With FAGE Total at The French Culinary Institute in New York City

{Scroll down below for a slideshow} Recently I went to a cooking class at the French Culinary Institute where I was invited by FAGE (pronounced Fa-yeh) to cook alongside with other bloggers. Honestly, I never bought FAGE yogurt nor have I tasted it but I was intrigued on how to incorporate yogurt into everyday cooking so I obliged. Here's a little history: The Beginning: In 1926, Athanassios Filippou opened a small dairy shop in Athens, Greece. At the time, the shop’s location was … [Read more...]

Shout-Out Sunday – June 26, 2011

Happy Sunday! It’s that time once again. It’s time for that Shout-Out Sunday post. You know the drill — It’s where I showcase posts written by bloggers from around the blogosphere. I don't have a specific theme this week but I can assure you, all the posts are great reads. I hope you enjoy this week’s picks. 1. What do you do when your kids answer you back in English when you've worked so hard teaching them Spanish? 2. Check out the 25 bloggers who shared their best girlfriend … [Read more...]

Wordless Wednesday – A Short Video at Grand Central Terminal (linky)

Yesterday before going to a blog event, I shot a short video at Grand Central Terminal with my Windows 7 Phone. I wanted to try out the video feature so I thought GCT would be the perfect spot. Enjoy -- I know I did!   Have a Wordless Wednesday Post? Link up your post below. I would love to see your photo! And don’t forget to visit these participants as well: The Domestic Buzz, Momspective, Dear Crissy & 5 Minutes for Mom. … [Read more...]

Chris O’Donnell Joins the Lunchables Team at Times Square

Earlier this week I had an amazing opportunity that doesn’t happen too often for me.  I was recently contacted by Lunchables to join them at Times Square along with other bloggers to help them reach their goal of donating up to one million pounds of fresh fruit to Feeding America AND get a chance of a lifetime to interview Chris O’Donnell (father of 5!) from the TV show NCIS: Los Angeles and movies like Batman and Robin, Scent of a woman and more. Now who’s crazy enough to say no to that? … [Read more...]
