Movies that are a Must-See for the Whole Family.

Over the thanksgiving break, my family and I went on a movie watching frenzy.  The two movies that we all loved was the Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian with Ben Stiller and Imagine That with Eddie Murphy.  They were both great family movies that everyone will enjoy, especially if you’re a family that has a HUGE imagination, like ours. Imagine That is a movie full of imagination (hence the word), mishaps and fantasy.  The father (Eddie Murphy) is a very busy, competitive money … [Read more...]

Giveaway: Two Tickets to See Hansel & Gretel at the MET Opera

The Metropolitan Opera will be featuring a fantastic show called Hansel and Gretel at the Lincoln Center for The Performing Arts.   I've known the story about Hansel and Gretel since I was a little girl  so I was super excited when I was sent tickets to see the show. The show will be available for only a limited time, just in time for the holidays.  The first showing will be on December 14th and will last for only seven more shows. I am proud to announce that one lucky New York Chica … [Read more...]

Sometimes You Have To Give In

I saw New Moon yesterday with my sister and my daughter.  I'm not really a Twilight fan, unlike my daughter but I wanted to make her happy so I took her.   Ever since she saw the previews, she's hinted to me that she really wanted to go and see it.  She's a huge book reader and read the book and loved it so she is definitely a huge fan. I waited to see Twilight on DVD because I heard mixed reviews on the movie and I'm so glad I waited because it wasn't all that great.  I posted about the … [Read more...]

Music Ace Deluxe | Review & Giveaway

A couple of months ago, I was sent the Music Ace Deluxe to review.   I decided to review it because my daughter has been playing the violin for 2 years now and she loves it.  Even though she is not a beginner violin player, she wanted to add another instrument so I thought this would be perfect.  She's thinking of learning how to play the clarinet.  When I was in junior high school, I played the clarinet and violin and I loved it.  Music was my favorite subject.  I would count the minutes until … [Read more...]

Shoffee.com is Sponsoring Our Keurig Elite Brewer Giveaway

The Keurig brand has had a great reputation and it’s growing every day. Because of that, I’ve wanted one for the last few years because I’ve heard many great things about the brewer and to be honest, I’m really the only person that drinks “coffee maker” coffee since my husband is an instant coffee drinker, yuk, I know.  So,  whenever I made coffee in the coffee maker, I had to throw the rest  away because I only wanted one cup. So, when I found out that www.Shoffee.com will be giving me one … [Read more...]

Broke-ology | A Must See Play!

My mom and I recently went to see Broke-ology. Never heard of it?  It's basically a fantastic play about a family that goes through life in the ghetto streets of Kansas City and they try to figure out what to do with their future.  Drama happens here and there but they stick together as a family, no matter what. The play is directed by the same person that directed "In the Heights" (another great play), Thomas Kail. After hearing so many great things about the play, I was really excited … [Read more...]

Trident and Smiles Across America

Ten days ago, I was involved in an online briefing among other bloggers with actress Jennie Garth and Dr. Dan Jones.  The purpose of the briefing was to learn about the campaign called Smiles Across America®, which is the signature program from Oral Health America that supports dental services to thousands of children in underserved communities nationwide.  We wanted to help spread the word about oral care and education for your kids. Did you know that 51 million school hours were missed last … [Read more...]
