E.T.’s 30th Anniversary – Madame Tussauds Immortalizes E.T. at Five Locations

Can you believe E.T. (The Extra Terrestrial) made its way to the theaters over thirty years ago? I feel so old! E.T. was one of my favorite childhood movies and I still watch it.....with my kids, of course! So in honor of E.T.'s 30th anniversary and its release on Blu-ray for the first time ever, Madame Tussauds immortalized E.T. just a couple of days ago at several attractions around the world, including London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Sydney and Hollywood. Tokyo will also add E.T. to its collection … [Read more...]

Dave & Busters + New Victory Theater = Loads of Fun!

Last weekend my little one and I were invited by Mama Drama NY for a fun-filled afternoon at Dave & Busters followed by a 7 pm show at New Victory Theater to see URBAN. During our time at Dave & Busters, we were treated to a class on how to juggle where we juggled pieces of colorful fabric. You may think, Oh, fabric must be easy to juggle than the usual balls -- but I assure you, those fabrics have a mind of their own. :) It was fun for all of us and afterwards we were all … [Read more...]

Enjoying Lemonade & Hot Apple Cider with Green Mountain Naturals® #YourPerfectCup

My Keurig® brewer gets used and abused on a daily basis - sometimes a few times a day. I can't help it. I need my cup of java first thing in the morning and then when I get home from a LONG day's work. I NEED another cup when I get home just to get me through dinner, homework and bedtime rituals. Yes, I'm head over heels in love with my Keurig®. The day it dies (oh please NO!), I will be freaking out all over my social media channels. Oh yes I will. But I won't think about that right … [Read more...]

Empanada Mama – A Hidden Gem on 9th Ave in New York City

Why is it that if you fry any foods in grease, it will taste absolutely amazing? Sometimes I wish vegetables tasted the same way. Oh well. A few weeks ago I was in the city with my sister and I mentioned to her that I was craving empanadas (think of a Jamaican beef patty). She said she knew the perfect place. We walked from Times Square to the west side on 9th and 51st Street. The weather was beautiful so we just walked and talked. We even saw Ethan Hawkes chatting with some fans. Once … [Read more...]

Parenting Debate: To Dorm or Not To Dorm…

That is the question in our household these days. It's left unanswered because we can't agree on the same thing.....yet. Ever since my son's college night at his school, we've been debating whether or not he should dorm in college. My husband and I are on opposite sides of the spectrum and can't seem to come to an agreement. I say he dorms because it would be great for him. It would teach him so much about life. It would also teach him about responsibility and independence, among lots … [Read more...]
