Those of you who will be attending the Hebrew National “Better Than A Picnic” Picnic at Randall’s Island will also get to be up close to a well-known celebrity.
If you know the infamous show “Curb Your Enthusiasm” then you must know who Cheryl Hines is, right? Or if you have little ones, they’ll know her as Sudsy Bubblestein from Jack’s Big Music Show.
Well, she will be our celebrity spokesperson at Randall’s Island!!
How exciting is that??
She will be helping out with a local charity along with everyone else and of course, enjoying the delicious Hebrew National’s hot dogs and having a grand ol’ time. I love her in Curb Your Enthusiasm. She really knows how to put Larry in his place. LOL If you’ve never watched the show, you must watch it! It’s hilarious!
Anyway, if you haven’t RSVP yet, don’t worry – there’s still time. Email me at Lisa [at] newyorkchica [dot] com and let me know you are coming!

Although I didn’t know her, I was deeply saddened by the news of Bea Arthur passing away this past Saturday. She was born in New York City in 1922. She was 86 years old. She died of cancer in her Los Angeles home (and is survived by her two sons and two grandchildren.
She was a great actress and one of the best girls (in my opinion) in the show, The Golden Girls. I laughed at every show. She was very talented and very funny.
If you’ve never had the privilege to see one of her shows, here’s one I had a ball with.
You’ll always be remembered Bea Arthur. Rest in peace.
If you do, then you’ll enjoy a very entertaining clip from the Rachael Ray show (my fave show).
I have to be honest though; when I first heard that song, I didn’t like it at all. Every time I heard it on the radio, I would always switch it to another station. I really thought it was a dumb song.
“If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it”. Before I thought that verse was ridiculous but now I like it and I think it’s funny. It’s not her greatest song but there are lots of people that love it.
Also, since my 3 year old daughter loves the song and loves to dance to it every time she hears, I love it even more. It’s got a nice beat to it too.
If you want to see the clip, click here to see the Single Ladies Dance Off. You won’t be sorry.
By now, everyone knows that John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s son died on Friday caused by a seizure. I was curious to see what they had on their site because I heard on the news that many fans sent them condolences thru their site. That is also when I found this picture:
(Jett and his Dad)
When I saw this picture, my tears came down. My heart really goes out to them. I can only imagine the pain they are going thru. If you want to see the site, here it is: http://www.kellypreston.com/
You can also see John Travolta’s site. He has a message to all his fans. http://www.travolta.com/
I was saddened when I heard that Paul Newman died Friday from Cancer. He was 83 years old. He did so many things in his lifetime. He was a great actor and a hero to many people too. He has acted in over 65 movies in over 50 years. Among all the films he was in, he also opened summer camps for sick children at no cost to the families & became a nonprofit entrepreneur for a line of foods called Newman’s Own.
You’ll notice the brand because his picture is on the front of every item and all of the labels has this statement: All profits and royalties are donated after taxes to educational and charitable purposes. Does anyone else do this? I don’t think so.
In case you didn’t know, his foods include popcorn, salad dressing, cereal, wine, steak sauce, spagetti sauce and lemonade. My favorite is the Virgin Lemon-Aided Iced Tea. It’s a mixture of Iced Tea and Lemonade. It is so good. If you love Iced Tea and Lemonade, you’ll love this.
Another thing I loved about Paul Newman was that he was married to actress Joanne Woodward for 50 years!! Now that is a commitment.
So anyway, take a few minutes and stop here to know more about him.
