Yup! That's what my kids think (& say behind their breath) by they way they huff and puff when I tell them to do chores and stuff around the house. You wanna know what I make them do? Here's the list (and it's not every.single.day!): I make them brush their teeth. Take showers everyday (if I'm lucky!) They MUST clean their own rooms. My son (12 yrs.) has trash duty everyday! My daughter (10 yrs.) clears the table every nite (if I'm lucky!). The older two takes care of the … [Read more...]

Fight Hunger With Shoprite and General Mills
Ever since I was a little girl, I 've seen so many hungry children on television and in real life. It hurts me to know that so many kids and even adults go to bed hungry and they don't even know when their next meal will be right in front of them. So I'm glad to let you know that Shoprite has created "Shoprite Partners In Caring" campaign to fight the hunger and start making sure no child or adult is left hungry. Below is what they're all about: ShopRite ShopRite Partners In Caring is a … [Read more...]
The Tiger’s Tail | Movie Review
It's Movie Tuesday!!! Last night, my husband and I saw The Tiger's Tail. It's a drama-thriller type movie. It should not be seen with kids because of its rating (R). It truly is an adult movie. There's no sex (well, one sex scene but no nudity was seen) or anything provocative, it's just that they wouldn't understand and they'll probably fall asleep anyway. The movie is based in Dublin, Ireland, starring Kim Cattrall (Jane O'Leary), Brendan Gleeson (Liam O'Leary), Ciaran Hinds (Father … [Read more...]
Sears Can Get Your Child Campus Ready!
(This post was sponsored by Sears. All the opinions are mine.) I miss the good ol' days of dorming when I was in college. Although I only dormed freshmen & sophomore year, I have to be honest and say that it was the best 2 years of my life. I think it's a great experience for kids to dorm because they can learn alot about their individuality and at the same time get an education. It's also a time when they become independent too. I know I did. The best part about dorming was buying … [Read more...]

The Disappointment Continues.
It's just not fair to go through so many disappointments in one week. It's not but I guess that's inevitable. So, I finally saw Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince last night. It was OK. I liked it but...ok, I have to be honest here....I really didn't like it. I still feel the need to watch a Harry Potter movie. This one left me wanting more and I didn't get that, unfortunately. It's sad because my family and I are HUGE fans and the only one that really enjoyed it was my 12 year old … [Read more...]
Woo Hoo! Hells Kitchen: Season 6 Is Only A Day Away!
I don't care what anybody says, Chef Gordon Ramsey is one of the best chefs out there! I LOVE Chef Gordon Ramsey. He loves his kitchens to be spotless, his food to be perfect and his chefs to be the best! He's a tell-it-like-it-is kind-of person and I love that. Yes, he screams at the top of his lungs when he doesn't like a dish that you should be an expert on and yes, he makes people feel like crap... BUT, if you don't have to cook for him, he can be the sweetest guy you could ever … [Read more...]
When You Have Kids, There’s Always Room For Disappointments.
Unfortunately, that's life when you have kids. Here's why... My family and I had plans to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince today. We had it planned since Wednesday, which was the official start day for the movie. We also wanted to make Sunday a "Family Fun Movie Day" since my husband has been working so much lately. It's really his only day off out of the week. We were all excited to see it, including my 4 year old. She especially loves Harry Potter. I think it's because … [Read more...]
Photo Hunters: ROCK!
My friend Rebecca over at New York Traveler loves to post for Photo Hunters and she always has very interesting photos. I love them all. This time she invited me to join in on the fun. The two photos below were taken last week at Central Park by the Delacorte Theatre. My 4 year old saw the huge rock and quickly wanted to "walk" on the rock. So I got my camera and shot a few pictures and these were the best looking ones. I hope you enjoy them. If you want to join in, go right ahead! … [Read more...]
