The Boys Are Back | Movie Review

I received The Boys Are Back on DVD a few weeks ago but it wasn't until last night that I was able to finally view it. If you haven't seen the movie when it came out in theaters, don't fret - It comes out on DVD today so you can rent it or better yet buy the DVD because it was a great movie.  In my opinion, if a movie makes you cry or even make your eyes water just a bit, then it did its job. The Boys Are Back was inspired by a true story and directed by Scott Hicks.  Joe Warr, played by … [Read more...]

General Mills Cereals | Review

Thanks to General Mills for allowing MyBlogSpark for sending me 4 VIP coupons for free boxes of cereals to help my family get in the habit of eating the most important meal of the day – breakfast.  My kids and I went shopping for a few staples like milk, bread, eggs and of course some cereals. I told each of my kids that they can choose one cereal that had the General Mills brand on the box and this is what they chose: Cookie Crisp Honey Nut Cheerios Reese’s Puffs I chose my all-time … [Read more...]

Progresso® High Fiber Soup | Review & Giveaway

Full Disclosure: I received the soup, information and the prize pack you see below from MyBlogSpark and Progresso. No other compensation was given. I recently had a yummy and nutritious opportunity to try out Progresso’s New High Fiber Homestyle Minestrone Soup.  I’ve always been a soup lover, especially in the cold, winter months.  I don't know about you but for me it’s nice to sit down with a bowl of hot soup and a side of crackers to dip in the soup when it’s cold outside.  It makes me … [Read more...]

Caress Evenly Gorgeous Bodywash & Beauty Bar | Review & Giveaway

In the Winter, the weather can wreck havoc on your skin. The dry air in your home and the cold air outside really dries out the skin. That is why we need to use extra moisturizers to keep our skin soft and supple. It also helps if we use the right cleanser for our skin. For me, the right cleanser means a soap that smells great, leaves my skin soft and of course, one that cleans well too.  If a cleanser has exfoliators in the product, it's an added bonus because it sloughs away the nasty … [Read more...]

Truvia | Review

I received a box of Truvia from our friends over at iVillage.com a few months ago.  The reason why they sent it to me was because I was a community leader at one of their message boards a few months ago called Latina Beauty.  It was a great board but members were becoming really busy with their families and their life and it became a "ghost town", so I resigned.   Most of the members I know there are still in contact with me because we stayed friends so it wasn't a complete lost. Ok, back to … [Read more...]

Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie: Extended Edition

My daughter and I recently had the opportunity to see Disney's Wizard's of Waverly Place: The Movie, Extended Edition on DVD this past weekend. It wasn't the first time she saw the movie but she was glued to the TV like it was the first time. The DVD is not out until tomorrow so my daughter was highly excited that she was one of the first few to check out the extended version of her favorite show. We love Wizards of Waverly Place on the Disney channel because we love witches, spells and … [Read more...]

Disney’s Handy Manny Motorcycle Adventure

When the Disney Channel first aired Handy Manny, my kids and I were curious to see what it was all about.  I don't often speak Spanish around them which I know isn't good for them but I grew up in a household where English was the number one language.  I guess I got used to it. Handy Manny is a bi-lingual show about a Hispanic handyman and his animated, talking tools.  The show teaches young children the beginnings of Spanish and the importance of cultural diversity.  Learning Spanish while … [Read more...]

Santa Buddies: The Legend Of Santa Paws & Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Choo-Choo Express | Review

Every year during the holidays, I like to play Christmas music and watch holiday themed-movies to get into the spirit.  I want to spread the tradition to my children so they are the same way, especially my four year old.  During the past two weeks, she’s seen the same two movies almost daily. I think I know every line and so does she. The first one is Santa Buddies.  Both of my daughters really enjoyed this one because they love dogs and of course, Christmas.  It’s about a dog named Puppy … [Read more...]

Movies that are a Must-See for the Whole Family.

Over the thanksgiving break, my family and I went on a movie watching frenzy.  The two movies that we all loved was the Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian with Ben Stiller and Imagine That with Eddie Murphy.  They were both great family movies that everyone will enjoy, especially if you’re a family that has a HUGE imagination, like ours. Imagine That is a movie full of imagination (hence the word), mishaps and fantasy.  The father (Eddie Murphy) is a very busy, competitive money … [Read more...]
