Sears Delivery SUCKS!

My husband and I ordered a lawn tractor like this: on May 5th from our local Sears store.  The salesperson told us we could have the floor model sent to us as soon as possible, which was May 16th.  So we said ok, that's fine, even though our grass looks like a jungle, we'll wait another 2 weeks for the mower.  Are you curious as to what our grass looks like?  It's really bad.  Here's a similar picture:Here is what happened this week:We get a call from Sears on Wednesday … [Read more...]

The last two on American Idol

If you've been watching American Idol on TV, you'll know that my favorite idol is gone.  You can see who my favorite was here. Now it's between David Cook and David Archuleta. The funny thing is that no matter who America chooses, their first  name will be David.  LOL..So, who will be the next American Idol?  I hope David Cook wins the competition.  He should win because in my opinion, he has the better voice but there is a BIG chance Archuleta may win.  America, … [Read more...]

Such a tragedy…

I can't believe the horror those people are going through in China.  When the quake first happened, they said it was about 8,000 people that lost their lives in the quake.  Now they are estimating that it can be close to 50,000 people that might be dead.  Wow, that is alot of people.  They are in my prayers.  Read one of the many articles here. … [Read more...]

Planning on a vacation?

Even though I live in New York, I take the city for granted most of the time.  There are so many things to do in New York, you can never get bored.  When my husband and I were dating, we dedicated one weekend to stay in the city.  We stayed the weekend at the Millennium Hotel because we got a great deal from his brother in law that worked there.  After we checked in, we went out to dinner, saw a Broadway show and walked around.  We also passed by Radio City Music Hall … [Read more...]

Rain, rain, go away…

Come again another day.....-- Just when I thought we'll have more weather like this, it rains.  Yes, I know it's great for the flowers, grass and veggies but everything looks so gloomy when it rains.  I just feel like staying home, curling up in front of the TV and watching a girlie movie.  I rented P.S. I love you days ago and I would love to watch it.  I know I can't do that because I'll have a 3 year old running around and getting into EVERYTHING!! That is something I do … [Read more...]

Works for me Wednesday

I don't know about you but I love Egg Salad Sandwiches, especially because it contains mayonnaise.  I love mayo but with bathing suit season coming up, I like to remove the mayo because of all the calories and fat that it contains.  Instead I like to add Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) with a pinch of salt and pepper.  I eat the eggs with some no-salt crackers and that is either my breakfast or lunch.  It fills you up without the feeling of guilt afterwards.  I also love … [Read more...]

America’s Top 10 Recession-Proof Cities

When I first saw this list, I knew New York wouldn't be near number ten but I was curious to know what cities made "the list".   After looking at the top 10 list,  this New York girl just might have to relocate if times get too rough.  If we do decide to move to Raleigh, we won't be alone because my husband has some family in Raleigh, N.C.  The only negative part of the whole idea is that when we went to Raleigh for Easter break, I didn't feel like it … [Read more...]

Summer Vacations are Coming Soon

When I think about the Summer, I think about the best Summer vacation I ever had.  It was when my husband and I took the kids to Disneyworld in 2001. We had so much fun especially since we had no thoughts of terrorists.  Even though my kids were only three and five they still remember almost every part of the trip.  We had the best time of our lives.  After Disneyworld, we hopped on the Disney cruise which was the perfect way to end our trip. I think I prefer the cruise over the parks any … [Read more...]
