(venting here) Why can't they make movies that are suitable for children AND their parents anymore? I'm not talking about those G rated movies either. My husband and I decided to watch a movie with our 9 and 12 year old last night and we settled for a PG-13 movie. We thought by the reviews, (sex was never stated in the review) there would not be any type of sex in the movie. Well, in the first 15 minutes of the movie, they talked about sex and did sexual things where I had to have them … [Read more...]
The Happening, the movie..
I saw The Happening last night and it made me think about global warming and all the pollution we are giving to our precious earth. It also made me think about the dinosaurs. Why did they become extinct? Was it because of the earth fighting back? I know what the researchers say about the dinosaurs and everything but you can't believe everything you read. I was also freaked out because I imagined what happened in the movie, happening in real life. It was just spooky. I have to say, M. … [Read more...]
The most important issues
to me are: Affordable Health care. The "not-so-rich" people know health care is VERY expensive. Lower taxes for people making under $250,000. Better education funding. Better tax breaks on small business owners. Making this country absolutely safer than it is now. Take care of this country first, and then help other countries (if we can). There are millions of children that are starving in America right now. There's more but I'll stop there. To be completely honest, politics … [Read more...]
I just have to say…
that Dexter was GREAT!! It left me to the point where I wanted more and more. My husband was left feeling the same way too. Although he thinks we shouldn't watch Dexter for 3 weeks and then watch them consecutively. But I don't know if I'd want to do that. The suspense of not knowing what's going to happen next and waiting would get me crazy! So we'll see if that's going to happen. Does anyone do that? - Wait a few weeks to watch a show and then watch them back to back (we have a … [Read more...]
I can’t wait!
I can't wait to see Dexter tonite! I love that show. The characters, the story and what happens each and every time. What can I say, I love those thriller-killer-type shows & movies. I especially love when the killer goes after the bad guys and not the good ones. I also love how Yahoo had a special start page looking like their original start page only with a twist. Isn't it cool? I just had to copy it and post it here for all to look at. So am I the only "freak" who loves Dexter … [Read more...]
How about some free pie?
If you will be in the NYC area on Monday, September 29th, then don't miss out on The Mobile Pie Hole. What's a Mobile Pie Hole you might ask? Well, it's a truck (sponsored by ABC) that's traveling the country this month, giving away FREE pie to kick off the second season of Pushing Daisies. The Mobile Pie Hole truck will be at Times Square with Good Morning America (Broadway Studios) from 7AM to 9AM this Monday morning. The Mobile Pie Hole will be serving up free pie, pie-cutters, spatulas … [Read more...]
Movies Anyone?
Are you planning on going to the movies this weekend? Well, there's a few movies that came out today! I'm looking forward to seeing "Eagle Eye" with Shia LaBeouf. That movie looks really good and interesting. Check out the rest below. CHOKE: Victor Mancini, a medical-school dropout, is an antihero for our deranged times. Needing to pay elder care for his mother, Victor has devised an ingenious scam: he pretends to choke on pieces of food while dining in upscale restaurants. He then … [Read more...]
Wordless Wednesday – David Blaine
Here are a few pictures of David Blaine, the infamous magician. He is hanging above the Wollman Ice Skating Rink in Central Park. He is calling this stunt "The Dive of Death". Doctors say this will be a tough stunt because since the heart is closer to the head, the heart has to work over time to have his blood circulated throughout his whole body. So with that in mind, they say there might be a possibility he may become blind. But according to my hubby (who was there in person), he does … [Read more...]
SEX….made a killing!
Over the weekend, Sex in the City made a whopping 55.7 million dollars! That's more than what Warner Brothers hoped it would make. I guess there's a lot of fans that couldn't wait for the movie. I'm still waiting to see the movie but I am very patient. With 3 kids, I've learned to have more patience then I thought I would ever have. Good job girls!!! … [Read more...]
