October is National Bullying Prevention Month #StreamTeam

National Bullying Prevention

Last month, (October) was National Bullying Prevention Month but if you ask me, every day should be all about preventing bullying.  It’s something that is serious and sadly sometimes fatal.  I shared a personal story about my son when he was in summer camp about being bullied and it was horrible. He was not happy. His attitude changed.  He started teasing his little sister. And you know what? No one did a thing to help him.

So like I said in my bullying post, I told him to defend himself the next time he was bullied.  I know things should’ve been handled a different way but that is the way I grew up.  And you know what? After my son defended himself after another incident, the kid never bullied my son again.  Once that ordeal was over and a few talks here and there, his attitude got better, he was a much happier kid and he was back to normal.

I’m proud to announce that I am a part of the Stream Team with Netflix. I will be sharing what’s new with Netflix on a monthly basis but first, let me share the first topic that was introduced to the Stream Team; Bullying.

If you’re not a Netflix subscriber, then you are missing out! I’ve been a Netflix subscriber for 8+ years and I love it.  If you’re a movie and TV show addict than you need to sign up PRONTO!

Netflix has a list of movies that are easy to navigate covering bullying issues that the whole family can watch.  After the movie is over, I encourage you to speak to your children about bullying.  As a mother of three children, it’s an on-going conversation in my home.
