We Remember – 9 Years Later – 9/11

“New York City will never be the same again.”

Every year since the 9/11 tragedy, there are tons of wounds being reopened after another year has gone by.  It’s so sad how it happened.

I remember that day like it was yesterday.  The thing that really gets me teary is when they read each and every name out loud. Somehow my eyes tear with almost every name that is announced.

I’ll be honest, I don’t watch the whole tribute, it’s just too sad to watch it so I keep myself busy spending time with my loved ones at home — my husband and my 3 children.  They are my true blessing.

God bless America and God bless New York!

So, where were you on 9/11/01?

Comments

  1. I didn’t turn on TV to watch the anniversary. Gets me depressed. Every time I think about it makes me angry and sad for all those people who died because of the ignorance of some people.

That day I was on the bus then I was in the platform on the 7 train overlooking at the twin towers. I looked and there were two, then I looked again because I was on the phone and there was one only, then it hit me, “it fell!” Was trying to make a phone and couldn’t. Looked at the towers again and the last one was gone. An empty space is all I saw. I started crying right there in platform when I realize all those people that had to be sitting outside enjoying their breakfast morning.

I was going to post about it but didn’t wanted to remember everything of that day. I keep thinking about all those people down there at the mall. Waiting to be rescued dying little by little. The wait must been awful, to know that they might not get to them. That thought gives me nightmares. Imagine all of them screaming down there trying to reach for someone else alive around them. Horrible!

  2. It’s a day that reminds me each year to count my blessings!
