I’m Doing My Part, Are you?

Yesterday was Earth Day so it was a great day for yard work, which my
husband and I did. After a few hours of working, we started to get
hungry so we decided to go to TGI Fridays for lunch. After we filled our
bellies with a delicious lunch, we headed out to Lowe’s for some water
filters for our fridge and sink.

The reason we wanted to purchase water filters is because we want to
treat Mother Earth the way she should be treated – with respect and
with less trash.  We buy a case of bottled water every week and it’s getting to be a hassle and expensive so we want to stop wasting money on unnecessary items like water.

At Lowe’s, we spent over a hundred bucks in filters and we’re not even done yet. I still need to buy reusable water bottles for all five of us. We’re hoping we can do our part in saving the planet by not buying bottled water and saving some cash too.

Other ways we are trying to help Mother Earth is by replacing all the regular light bulbs with energy-efficient bulbs, turning off the lights when we leave the room, unplugging things that we are not using (such as toasters, microwaves & TV) and giving stuff away that we no longer use instead of throwing it out in the trash.

Every little bit helps so come on and do your part too! 🙂

So what have you done to help save our beautiful planet?

We do all that wonderful stuff too. I love giving stuff to others…whoever we give it too is always so happy. Double bonus. We have been thinking about getting filters for our tap instead of having to buy the large water containers for our water cooler. It just makes more sense. I think Earth Day should be everyday, anyway. Have a great weekent.
