My Obsession with Coupons Coincides with my Dreams.

couponsCutting coupons has been my obsession for as long as I can remember.  Saving money is something I love to do, especially when it means that I can splurge on other things, like lattes and all that good stuff.  😉 But when the obsession creeps into my dreams and bad things happen, then there may be a problem.

Here’s what happened in my dream:

I came in through my door from being out (I have no idea where I came from; the dream started out like that) and noticed my sitter rummaging through my stack of coupons I bought from buying several newspapers.  I asked her what she was doing and she told me that she couldn’t believe all the coupons she found.  She said she could save so much money so she decided to cut the ones she wanted.

I said WHAT?!

Are you crazy? Those are MY coupons that I bought and you have no right to go through my property anyway. You are solely here to watch the kids and make sure they are fed and safe – that’s all!  She tried to tell me that I didn’t need them because I had lots of food in the pantry and she thought it wasn’t a big deal.  I then told her what do you mean no big deal? Stealing is a big deal and that is exactly what you did.  I was so furious that I tackled her to the floor and started punching her and kicking her and all of a sudden her husband pops into the dream and saves her.  He told me to get off of her because I was a crazy lady and said he didn’t want his wife working for me anymore.  I told him tell your wife she better hand over the coupons before she leaves or else I’m calling the police.

And then, I woke up.  Actually I woke up laughing. I mean, come on, calling the police because of a coupon thief? LOL

My husband asked me why I was laughing and if I was ok? I said I just had the weirdest, demented dream ever and it had to do with coupons.  And then he called me weird.  I said, this time, I would have to agree with you.

So, what does that tell me? That you shouldn’t mess with a girl’s coupons or is it that I’m crazy?  You be the judge. 😉

Oh, and to make it clear. I am not, whatsoever, a violent person. I wouldn’t hurt a fly…….well, maybe I will but I would never, in a million years, do what I did in my dream. 🙂

  1. hahahaha! that’s hilarious, especially because you are so sweet. And because I can see that happen to someone else in real life – not you though 🙂

  2. Don’t mess a Mama’s Coupons 🙂 I have a panic attack when I misplace the envelope I keep my coupons in!

  3. There’s some pent up anger there for sure! Maybe a good kick boxing class would help, LOL! And if I was your babysitter, I’d start applying for other jobs, LOL!!!

  4. That is too funny! I wish I had that obsession. I put the coupons everywhere to try to remember them. The minute I decide to buy something at the store, the first thing I forget are the coupons. Now I know never to mess with your coupons girl!! 🙂

  5. I too love coupons.

I notice though that the more I clip, the more obsessed I become. So, I take breaks from it every few months (even though I still scan the paper for good deals.)

  6. I can completely understand! My coupons are my pride and joy. I collect all kinds and pass them on to friends and family. Mi madre brought me up to be frugal and ALWAYS clip coupons.

One day my grocery store had a triple coupon day. I had one coupon for each item I purchased. I bought a cart full of groceries for $20.00. The people in line were amazed. It’s not easy. It takes time and patience, but the money I save every time I go to the store make it worth it!

  7. I love all these comments!! Put me in a great mood..

Elisa: I would fight for my coupons but not physically..lol

    Karen: You got that right!!

    Tracy: Maybe you’re right! LOL

Ana: You don’t know how many times that has happened to me. Sometimes i don’t even buy the item b/c I left my coupon..LOL

Monique: I love my coupons too; my kids call me the coupon lady..hahaha

Monica: WOW! That is awesome. I have yet to do that. The most I saved was $25 and still I spent about $50.

  8. This is too funny!
I keep my coupons in my car so I never forget them 🙂
