Update: Life Will Go On.

I know things have been a little quiet around here lately.  Life has been one crazy roller coaster after another.  I can barely go on my computer to post on my blog without any distractions (have so much on my mind!!) and most days, I can barely make out a complete sentence when I’m either speaking or writing.

If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and/or Facebook, then you know I’m pretty active in those areas but when it comes to attending blog events or writing on my blog, I just don’t have the energy or the desire to anything.

You see, my life had a major change this past July and I don’t think I’ll ever be the same. As you may know my dad passed away in 1994 and that devastated me to no end (some days are still hard!). I can’t even begin to start typing what I’m about to say.

My mom passed away 5 months ago. 🙁 It was a shock to my whole family especially my sisters and I because although she was in and out of the hospital, she was getting better – or so we thought.  Death certificate states she died due to complications with her diabetes and a clogged artery (I can’t remember the “official” name of the diagnosis).

Life is not the same without her. I miss her like crazy every single day.  I miss her voice, her laugh, the way she cared for her plants, her cooking – I just freaking miss her. OMG I miss her cooking so much. She loved to cook (she knew how to throw down in the kitchen!) and feed her family.  She loved to help people. She loved her siblings even though two of them didn’t feel the same way but that’s another story.  She loved church, her mother and she loved her grand-kids. Oh she adored them. My kids were her life.

Some days I feel empty and depressed. Other days I try to be happy for my kids and my husband. It’s hard but honestly, it’s getting a little better with each passing day. I still miss her dearly but I’ve got to stop feeling sad and live in the moment for my family and know that life will go on.

PS. I will post winners on all the giveaways as soon as I can.  I can’t forget about my lovely readers!!

  1. Sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. Hope you and your family find comfort.

  2. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. It is so hard to recover from the death of a loved one. My baby brother was killed 3.5 years ago and I still cry almost daily.
