Hey everyone!!
I say this time and time again — There are many reasons why I love Netflix. The list can go on and on and on. One of the first reasons is that I can almost always find a movie I’m in the mood for. Whether it’s a horror movie, a romantic comedy or a police drama (what I’m recently addicted to!). Secondly, I can watch TV shows I never knew existed such as The Killing.
My husband and I stumbled upon the show by accident one day while we were scrolling across the TV show category on Netflix. We were instantly hooked after the first episode. We were like addicts every time we returned home from work.
For a week, our evenings looked like this: Come home. Help with homework. Cook dinner. Eat. Binge watch The Killing. Fall asleep on the sofa. Go to bed. Repeat.
Talk about addicts! Oh my goodness!
I LOVED that show, even though it was only 4 seasons! Netflix is a life saver for picking up the show after AMC canceled it twice! If it weren’t for Netflix, I would’ve never known about The Killing. Every season was great. As soon as you thought who the killer was, BOOM, another turn was made! I honestly can’t see why AMC would cancel such a good show.
Here’s what The Killing is all about:
In Seattle, Det. Sarah Linden is on what is supposed to be her last day on the job. She and her son Jack are supposed to leave that evening to join her fiancé in Sonoma. Her replacement, Det. Stephen Holder, is ready to take over but they answer a call from a patrol car who have found a bloodied sweater in a field. When the missing girl, Rosie Larsen, is found in the trunk of a car at the bottom of a lake it turns out the car is registered to the campaign committee for councilman Darren Richmond, who is running for mayor. Linden delays her departure for what she hopes will be only a few days.
Another show we became addicted to is Orange is the New Black. It took me a while to actually sit down and watch it with the husband because I wasn’t really into (or so I thought!) THAT type of show. But once I got started, I was hooked! It’s about the the story of Piper Chapman, a woman in her thirties who is sentenced to fifteen months in prison after being convicted of a decade-old crime of transporting money for her drug-dealing girlfriend.
The show really makes you think twice about doing a crime, even though I wouldn’t dare! I’m too afraid of going to prison. It’s a jungle in there! From what I heard from my Dad before he passed away, jail is not a place you want to visit let alone be an inmate. It’s more than a jungle – it’s HELL! But Orange is the New Black shows you how a minimum security prison really is. It’s still, NOT a place I want to be in! I’m now anxiously waiting for Season3!

I’m hooked on Netflix for many of the same reasons as you! A series I just binged watched and highly recommend is “Peaky Blinders”, about a crime family based out of England in the early 1920’s. Reminds me of Sons of Anarchy, in a different time period! Great watching!

I’ve never used Netflix so I don’t even know which shows they carry, but I really do want to see OITNB! There are many shows (some still running) that I’m interested in but I missed the beginning. I hate coming in in the middle of shows so I’m still missing out. I’d love to finally start from the beginning and catch up on all these shows!
I could easily binge watch The Bomb Girls series.
thank you
I would binge watch the last season of True Blood. We quit taking HBO so I missed the end of the series.
I would binge watch the orange is the new black.
Orange is the new black and modern family.
I would binge watch History Channel episodes.
I would watch all the seasons of Dr Who. I loved that show when I was a kid but missed hearing about it coming back out again as an adult so now it isn’t as much fun to watch because I probably only catch one show a year so have no clue what is happening.
