Easy Recipe: 5-Ingredient Baked Garlic Chicken

baked garlic chicken recipe

Whenever I cook savory dishes, the one ingredient I always use is fresh garlic. And I’m not talking about jarred minced garlic or garlic paste that comes in a tube. I’m talking about fresh, whole garlic cloves. It’s the one ingredient I can’t live without. And when I tell you I add it to every single savory dish, I REALLY do. I add garlic to beans, rice, meats, fish, potatoes – the list can literally go on and on. It makes the food come alive. It make your taste buds happy. This easy recipe is for all you garlic lovers out there!

I first knew about this recipe from a co-worker. She texted me one morning and told me that I had to try this recipe she made the night before and it didn’t require any salt. Because of my love for garlic, she knew I would love it. I’ve been on a health kick lately so this quick, easy and healthy recipe really intrigued me.

It’s a basic recipe that can be versatile as well. I already made this recipe twice and also with boneless pork cutlets.Β  It was mouthwatering and deliciously divine!

5-Ingredient Baked Garlic Chicken Recipe

1 – pound of Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast (or tenderloins)
2 – Cloves of Freshly, Crushed Garlic
1/2 – cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 – cup of Seasoned Italian Bread Crumbs
1/2 – cup of Grated Parmesan Cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Make sure the chicken is patted dry if you rinse chicken like I do. Mix the bread crumbs and the the parmesan cheese in a separate bowl. Place aside.

In a small saucepan on low heat, add the EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) and the crushed garlic. All you’re doing is diffusing the oil with the garlic. After the EVOO is warm (it takes a few minutes – wait til you see a tiny sizzle), remove it from the heat.

Take the chicken and dip both sides in the garlic EVOO mixture then dip both sides in the Parmesan/bread crumbs mixture. Place it on a baking dish and repeat until all the chicken is coated.

Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for about 1/2 hour or until the juices run clear (depending on the thickness of the chicken breast).Β  If you want to use other parts of the chicken, by all means do it!

Serve this with pasta, potatoes, salad or even rice & beans.

Your whole family will love it. Mine sure does!

Buen Provecho!
