As a mom of three, I am always on the look out for great bargains. With the way this economy has been lately, money can go like water. And like I tell my husband, these kids suck us dry and let me tell you, they sure do. So we tend to shop when there’s a huge sale or just head to Burlington Coat Factory for some new and cool brand name items.

With the first day of school quickly approaching (my kids go back Sept 6th), Burlington Coat Factory sent me on a Back-to-school challenge with a $100 gift card to see what I can get for all three of my kids.

Once we arrived to our local store, I told my kids they were able to pick out their own clothes. They were pretty psyched at the idea. I told them I wouldn’t say a word but just pick out appropriate clothing for school and I did just that. I left my son at the men’s department and my teenage daughter took her little sister to look in the young girls section.

I, on the other hand, went to the shoe department. Hehehehe

My son managed to get five shirts and 2 long sleeve shirts. My teenage daughter picked out one shirt (yeah, I can’t believe it either – teenagers!). My little one got a bunch of cool new things. She picked out a book bag, a lunch bag (not pictured below), name-brand sneakers, flip-flops (for 2 bucks!) and several tops. I did go over budget ($17.00) but if all the items were regular price, it would’ve been well over $200 so I made out like a bandit!
