Brave Stories: Merida (video preview)

brave scene

By now, I’m sure you have seen previews and posts about Pixar’s newest movie, BRAVE.  The film takes aim at theaters on June 22, 2012, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.  It’s going to be one of the hottest movies this Summer!

Merida, who is the curly red-headed, passionate, tough girl who knows what she wants and when she wants it.  She lets no one get in her way, not even her parents. But of course, she’ll encounter obstacles along the way. You just need to see what happens!

“Brave” follows the heroic journey of Merida, a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to harness all of her skills and resources – including her clever and mischievous triplet brothers – to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late, discovering the meaning of true bravery.

Disclosure: Disney provided an all-expense paid trip to San Fransisco, California for three days for the Disney/Pixar Event.  All opinions are all my own, as always.

  1. Lisa Soto says:

Looks like another A+ movie by Disney. At least we still have movies we can take our children to. Thank you Disney!

    • Amen to that! So many movies are being made for older teens and adults nowadays. Gotta love Disney! They always deliver for the whole family!

  2. Merida’s strengths are that she is independent, brave, confident, and adventurous, whether you are a tomboy or you like pink doesn’t matter. Anyone, whether they like video game or shopping, or both, can have courage, determination, and loyalty.

  3. I feel Brave to be raising my children in this world today and teaching them to be brave to face each day with confidence and courage. We would like to see the movie in Chicago!
