ABC’s Charlie’s Angels Premieres Tonite! (& a Sephora Giveaway Valued at $100)

Charlie's Angels

{Giveaway is now closed. #41 is the lucky winner! It’s Sujeiry! Congrats!}

If you’re a child from the 70’s like I am, then you’ve seen the original show, Charlie’s Angels with Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith with their beautiful layered hair and their style of kicking ass.

I loved that show. Even as a little girl, I would pretend being one of the angels whenever I would watch it. Throwing high kicks with my skinny legs and landing on the sofa pretending I captured one of the bad guys. Yeah, I thought I was a bad-ass little girl but only when I would watch Charlie’s Angels. 😉

Fast forward to 2011 — Thirty-something years later and the beautiful Drew Barrymore is the executive producer of ABC’s newest shows, Charlie Angels, premiering tonite at 8|7c.  I have my DVR ready to record the whole series so I don’t miss a kick-ass moment!  I can’t wait!

Synopsis: Everyone deserves a second chance — even a thief, a street racer and a cop who got in a little too deep. After all, the three women who solve cases for their elusive boss, Charlie Townsend, are no saints. They’re angels… Charlie’s Angels.

Set in Miami, this fun, glamorous, action-packed take on the 1970s smash hit series introduces us to three new angels, all fearless detectives, head-turning beauties and close friends. There’s Abby (Rachael Taylor), a Park Avenue princess who became a world-class thief. Then there’s Kate (Annie Ilonzeh), a Miami cop who fell from grace, losing both her career and her fiancé. Finally there’s Gloria, a disgraced army lieutenant who has a way with explosives. When one of the angels’ missions ends in Gloria’s tragic death, Charlie persuades them to partner with Gloria’s childhood friend, Eve (Minka Kelly), a street racer with a mysterious past. They may not know each other yet, but one thing’s for sure — Abby, Kate and Eve will always have each others’ backs.

  1. I was a fan of the original show. I wish I were a Jaclyn, but I’m more of a Kate.

    Not a fan of the movies.

    I’ve seen some of the old shows recently and it did not hold up. Very dated!

  2. Yes, I was a fan of the original show and use to watch it weekly as a kid. I always thought I was like Jaclyn Smith or wanted to at least be like her – she was glamorous and smart.

  3. I used to love Charlie’s Angels, but actually was a fan of Cheryl Ladd more than the other angels, probably because although she looked very delicate she could hold her own. Jaclyn Smith was my second favorite.
    The first movie was super entertaining but I still prefer the series. I though Cameron Diaz was very funny.

    I was definitely a fan of the original show and I guess I’d be more like Jaclyn Smith’s character. Or should I say just Jaclyn Smith, because I still adore her and watch her whenever she’s in made for tv movies etc.

  20. I remember Charlies Angels when I was younger but didn’t watch regularly. I do own the movies on DVD and LOVE them. Which angel am I most like? It have to be Drew’s character. She was fun and feisty but had a lovable, warm spirit about her without being gullible like Cameron’s character, just like me!

    I did watch CA back in the day (sounds long ago) and I tuned in weekly! I loved Jaclyn Smith and I feel that I related to her character the most. Visually, she emboided a “latina-esque” persona.

    I believe that the movies did not do the show justice and am looking forward for the new season to pay good homage to the original lovely ladies.

  40. I’m not a fan of the movies/show, I have not seen them & I’m more like Abby just because she sounds more like me than the others.
