Getting Gorgeous With Degree in NYC With Discount Codes!

This past weekend I had the privilege of attending my 2nd Getting Gorgeous event in New York City.  It’s a beauty event that is jam-packed with awesome sponsors and bloggers founded by two sweet, wonderful ladies Vera Sweeney and Audrey McCllellan.

Let me start off by saying that if you’ve never had the honor of meeting Vera or Audrey, you’re missing out. I’m not kissing their butt (well maybe I am…lol) but these two ladies are the sweetest ladies you’ll ever meet.

The first time I met Vera was at a blogger event maybe two years ago, I’m not too sure but it seems like it was long ago.  I had no idea the name of her blog until after I was introduced to her. After I found out she was the creator of I’m Not Obsessed, I couldn’t believe it. I LOVE her site. It has the right amount of celebrity gossip that I crave – not too much, not too little.

Anyway, after that, whenever I saw her at an event, she always said hi to me and gave me a great big hug. You see, I told you she was the sweetest.

I first met Audrey at the Disney Social Media Conference (that I still have to write about)  in Orlando. Vera introduced us and Audrey gave me a great big hug, like we were old friends. She’s very sweet as well. Now I can tell why these two ladies are very good friends and work so well together.

Ok now back to the event.  It was held at the beautiful Metropolitan Pavilion on 18th street on the West side.  Getting Gorgeous is by far one of the best events I have ever been to and I’ve been to plenty blog events in the past two years thanks to blogging.  Vera and Audrey spent about 4 months (I asked Vera ;)) getting the event together and boy did they outdo themselves.

By bringing the brands and the bloggers together, it’s Vera and Audrey’s way of giving back to the blogging community. Isn’t that what blogging is all about anyway? Not many “big” bloggers will do that, I can tell you that.

Getting Gorgeous was like a high school reunion (a good one) seeing old friends and meeting new ones. It was such a “me” day that made me feel rejuvenated and happy.  After being sick with the flu and going through some stress at home, this event was exactly what I needed.

I got to the event at 12:30 and waited on line for a few short minutes chatting with Victoria about our kids. It wasn’t long before we went in. I was beyond excited to get in and start my day. Once you get in, you can see women mingling with one another and a huge orange juice bottle to the right.  I was dying for a drink.  It turns out Simply Orange (the beverage sponsor) was serving up Mimosas. I don’t drink so this was definitely a special occasion.

So off I went to mingle with the sponsors with my mimosa in my hand.  It was a wonderful array of sponsors and everyone was eager to showcase their products to over 200 bloggers.

Amazingly, the place never seemed too crowded. There were bloggers who came as far as Washington, D.C. just for the event.  As for me, I took a train from the Hudson Valley that took an hour and a half and I’ll be glad to do it again. It was such a fabulous day. I also got to bring home lots of goodies as well.

Here are the list of sponsors who were there and some awesome discounts especially for my readers:
