Lysol’s New Online Resource: Mission For Health & $100 AmEx Gift Card Giveaway

As a mom of 3 children who attend 3 different schools, you can imagine the various amounts of germs that come into our home. I’m always on the look out for new products that kills germs on contact and kills airborne germs that causes colds, flus & viruses. Time and time again, I always fall back on Lysol Disinfecting Spray. Its known to kill 99.9% of viruses and bacteria such as mold, mildew, odor causing bacteria and bacteria such as MRSA.

Because I am diligent with using Lysol Disinfecting Spray, I’m very thankful & blessed to have children who rarely get sick. They also know to wash their hands constantly with soap and warm water for at least 30 seconds, especially when they get home from school.

I’m happy to work with Lysol and their Mission For Health program to help spread the news about their new campaign in helping new parents and teachers to help educate children in school about healthy habits and disaster relief efforts.

Two weeks ago, Lysol hosted their first ever live video chat with in-house health expert, Dr. Laura Jana. During the chat, they emphasized on answering questions about how to promote healthy lifestyles and when to keep kids home from school.

You can check out the recorded video chat below by clicking the play button:

Dr. Jana is a pediatrician, mother of three, Lysol® in-house health expert, and health communicator. She is well recognized nationally for her ongoing efforts to promote healthy lifestyles for children and offers credible, practical parenting advice.

The next 30 minute Live video chat with Dr. Jana is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, December 9th at 3:00 pm EST on Lysol’s Facebook Page.

To make it even easier for moms to help stop the spread of germs at home and school this cold & flu season, LYSOL is now offering Buy 1 Get 1 Free packs of LYSOL Disinfecting Wipes and LYSOL Dual Action Disinfecting Wipes at major retailers nationwide through January 2011. As a child that was not really *made* to go to school, I am loving that Lysol is doing the Blue Ribbon Program for schools. It’s nice for kids to have an incentive to get into school and stay there!

  13. I also have three kids, three different school. I can’t believe how many parents will send a sick child into school. A principal even told me of a story of a kid who got off the bus with a bag in her hand that her Mom had given her in case she threw up…again. I hope Lysol can get the message through to some of these parents to disinfect their areas and keep their kids healthy. Thanks.

  14. I think what Lysol is doing in partner with Save the Children is phenomenal! After major disasters someone has to look out for the well being of the children. Yes we are concerned about clothes, water shelter, but something that may be overlooked is the importance of cleanliness. Killing germs, disinfecting and such can save a child’s life!

The “Save the Children” disaster relief fund strikes particularly close to home for me as I am a Nurse and deal with Emergency Preparedness during our most threatening weather seasons. It’s good to see that Lysol is not only receiving donations, but helping by donating their products to aide in infection control during the most needed times.
