It’s Hard to Dust Off Your Shelfies When You’re a Parent #StreamTeam

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Netflix as a part of my participation on the Netflix Stream Team.  All opinions are always my own.

You may be saying what the heck is a shelfie? Well I said the same thing when I first saw the word but then when I read the definition, it all made sense.

A shelfie is something we all have if you’re a Netflix subscriber like I am.

Do you have any ideas yet?

Well, they’re the shows you’ve been wanting to watch but they’ve been sitting on the virtual shelf because…well, because you’re a parent and who has the time?

Am I right?

My husband and I have had shows on our queue for MONTHS!! Since we both work full-time, we have limited time to watch our shows together before I fall asleep on the sofa.  My husband is always getting upset because I fall asleep on him all the time. But trust me, it’s not him at all. It’s just that I’m exhausted from work. So when I’m at home, I like to rest and relax after the normal things I must do like; help with homework, cook dinner and make sure my kids have clean clothes for school the following day.  And on top of all that, I work at a school — So I’m surrounded by kids all day long!! I am one tired mom! =)

So let me share my top-three “Shelfie” shows that I’ve been dying to start and/or finish (Believe me, I have LOTS of them!):

Bloodline
A family of adult siblings find that their past secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep of a brother returns home.

This is such an amazing show but again, because of my exhaustion, I rarely have the time to sit down and watch the rest of the episodes.  I’m forcing myself to take ME time this weekend!

Daredevil
A blind lawyer, with his other senses superhumanly enhanced, fights crime as a costumed superhero.

My husband finished this series but because I fall asleep in the middle of the show too often, I have yet to finish this one as well. Great show by the way. If you’re into super heroes, this show is a must-see!

Narcos
It is a serialized take on drug kingpin Pablo Escobar and the Medellín Cartel, as well as United States DEA agents.

So this show hasn’t been on my queue for very long but I’ve been eager to watch it since one of my friends keep raving about it.
