We’ve Succeeded in the Listerine Challenge! #HealthyHabits

We did it! Listerine and The Motherhood challenged us in taking the Listerine challenge for 3 weeks and we’ve succeeded.  It wasn’t difficult to keep up (thank goodness!) with the 3-week challenge since I am very diligent about keeping our mouths clean but with this challenge, brushing was now fun — according to my 7 year old. 🙂

Just in case you missed reading my first initial post, click anywhere in this sentence to do so.

My two older children didn’t want to “participate” in the challenge as my little one did, but they (ok, “I”) made sure they had their own brushing routine.  I think the most exciting part about the challenge was the calendar that was taped on the bathroom wall and applying that cute sticker every night.  It made my daughter want to floss, brush and rinse every single day.

It’s been a little over three weeks for us and I have to say, it’s one of the best challenges I’ve accepted.  We’re on the right path to a healthier and cleaner mouth.  I got to try Listerine Total Care Zero and it’s now one of my favorites. It’s doesn’t have that burning feeling (which I don’t mind since I already associate it with a clean mouth) like the original Listerine.  The Total Care Zero rinse still leaves my mouth feeling minty and clean.  Combine the new Listerine and our brand new Reach toothbrushes, our mouths are happy campers!  I’m pretty sure our next visit to the dentist will be a positive one.

One thing I did notice and loved during this challenge was that by having a visual calendar on the wall, the kids were able to remember to do their daily teeth routine as opposed to not having anything up.  I’m usually the one asking if they brushed, flossed and rinsed but surprisingly I didn’t have to do much of that.  It saved me time PLUS my sanity!

So how about starting your own family challenge? You can start by visiting Walmart to learn more information on oral health care and find some great deals on Listerine and reach products.

Disclosure: I received products and compensation from Johnson & Johnson and The Motherhood as part of my participation in the Oral Care Challenge.  All thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my own.
