I Hosted A LeapFrog “Learn, Create, Share” Party!

A few weeks ago, I invited a few moms from the neighborhood to come over for a LeapFrog “Learn, Create, Share” party with some snacks and some LeapFrog products. It’s not often I get together with other moms because we all have different schedules and often times, our families keep us quite busy.

So having a party is always on the back-burner if we’re not celebrating a birthday or two. Thanks to Mom Select and LeapFrog, I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with some friends (who didn’t want to be photographed) and our kids along with the popular Leap Pad Learning Tablet, Tag Reading System and accessories.

We all had a blast! Even though some moms didn’t show up, we had loads of fun. One of the best things about hosting a party with LeapFrog was the recipes they sent over.  I made chicken tenders, “swamp” juice (just kool-aid with food coloring) and froggy cupcakes.  The cupcakes were a huge hit with both moms and kids!

In total, I had four moms and six kids. I anticipated more people but they had previous plans.  The ones who did show up, were amazed on how Leap Frog can be both educational and entertaining.

During the party, I noticed the Leap Pad and the The Tag System were equally liked. Personally, my favorite was/is the Leap Pad.  Why? She’s so in love with my iPad that I was hoping she would get interested in another gadget and she did! She doesn’t ask for my iPad anymore! Woo Hoo!

I really think her Leap Pad is much better than my iPad because of the camera features and the camcorder built-in ( I have the first generation iPad).

LeapPad™ learning tablet– LeapPad is the personalized learning tablet just for kids with a built-in camera and video recorder! LeapPad offers limitless learning and endless play through a library of 100+ cartridge games and activities with innovative creativity and reading apps! This tablet is the ultimate combination of high-tech features in a kid-friendly form factor! Touch the screen with a finger, tap it with the stylus or turn, twist and shake it for exciting motion-based gameplay! A broad curriculum includes school basics like reading, mathematics and science, plus geography, art, music, language and culture, health and more. Skill levels adjust automatically so kids can learn at their own pace, and progress is remembered from game to game and book to book. LeapPad also hosts a robust suite of creativity apps to nurture kids’ innate curiosity! LeapPad just launched in August and is deemed “sure to be a toy-of-the-year” by the media.

Here are some of our favorite features from the Leap Pad:

1. Personalization – You can personalize your child’s home screen with their name and picture and also change the game’s background, music and more!

2. E-Books – Sometimes  when we’re on the road and my six-year-old wants to bring a load of books, it can get quite heavy. With the E-Book feature, she can read a ton of books in one hand-held device without the weight.

3. Art Studio App – My six-year-old loves to draw and color.  She is the artist in the family.  With the Art Studio App, there’s no need for markers, crayons or paper, which equals to no mess!

4. Built-in Camera and Video Recorder – Kids love taking photographs and seeing themselves in action. My daughter has so much fun with this feature but sometimes way too much! LOL

5. Pick and Choose – You can either choose to use the stylus or the touch screen.  You can’t go wrong with either one.

Tag™ Reading System – Tag is the #1 selling reading system and recommended by 99% of teachers to help kids learn to love reading. Tag brings stories to life with each touch of the interactive Reader to the pages of specially printed storybooks. Words talk, pictures come to life and stories live out loud, engaging children’s senses to make reading a rich, fulfilling experience. Children can use Tag as they begin their own personal learn-to-read journeys, then continue to enjoy it as their skills grow, from hearing an entire story read aloud to seeking help with individual words. With a library of 40+ books, maps and more, children can also take the fun beyond reading with fun play patterns that broaden curriculum experiences such as exploring other cultures, building skills in life science or even learning how to write!

Check out our favorite features from the Tag System:

1. Books – There are a ton of books to choose from so your child is not bored.  Since my daughter is an avid reader, she really loved the ease of the tag pen.  Your child can easily learn how to read with the Tag System. I highly recommend it.

2. Interactive Map – The map was a huge hit at our party. Everyone wanted to hear all about  the countries and states.  I have to say, we ALL  learned a lot!
