P&G and Walmart are featuring another one of their family movie nights — just in time for football season.
Game Time: Tackling The Past is a family-friendly film that features real-life drama, romance, sports and family issues. Although the movie portrays football, it’s not all about the sport.
Here’s a synopsis of the movie:
Pro football star Jake Walker is just one season away from setting an all-time receiving record that will guarantee him a spot in the Hall of Fame. But when he gets news that his father has suffered a serious heart attack, Jake leaves training camp and returns to Riverton, the small hometown he’s avoided for nearly 15 years.
Past memories of glory and regret resurface as Jake is forced to reconnect with the family and community he abandoned in pursuit of his career. A call from his agent delivers another crushing blow – Jake’s contract will not be renewed. Stripped from the thing he cares about most, the real Jake begins to emerge from behind his armor to see that life proves more than the accumulation of personal stats.
But when he’s offered a lucrative new contract with another team, he must decide whether to go back to the career he thought he loved, or stay in Riverton and embrace the people who have always been there for him.
Tackling the Past is a movie that will show all of us that winning isn’t everything (try telling my 6-year-old that!). Being a team player doesn’t always mean winning. Being a winner is really being a team player. And through it all, you always need your loved ones nearby. No matter what.
Ask yourself this: without your family, what do you have?
After viewing the movie, thanks to a special preview from Mom Central, I’d have to say I really enjoyed the movie. Although I’m not really into sports, I will watch a game of football or two with the husband. This movie is very different. It’s “more my style” of movies.
Even if you’re not a fan of Football or any sport for that matter, I can guarantee you will enjoy this movie as much as I did. I can’t wait to watch it with my family on Saturday.
