Champion SHAPE™: Making Zumba Extra Fun!

So this past Monday I decided to try out Zumba for the very first time.  If you read my first post on Champion SHAPE™ gear, then you already know that I am one of Champion’s “Shape Your Life” Blogger Ambassador who also wants to lose some weight.

Here’s where the issue lies — I’ve got to start slow.  I have a thyroid condition that makes me fatigue – among other things, an umbilical hernia that needs to get fixed really soon and lately I’ve been having pain on my left knee (a.k.a I’m one hot mess!).  All those factors come into play when I workout so I know I have to take it easy.

Not so easy when you’re doing Zumba.

Since it was my first time doing Zumba, I didn’t overexert myself. I pretty much know my limitations.

After trying out the the shapewear capris along with the Smoothing Long Top, it was time to try out the long smoothing pants and the cool, Brazilia blue 100% Cotton V Neck Tank Top.

The best part of the pants is the tummy area.  Its inner power-mesh panels trims your hips, thighs and thank goodness, the tummy. It sucks my tummy in and holds everything right in place.  The 13% Lycra keeps the jiggle at bay as well.

If you sweat profusely during your workouts, this Champion SHAPE™ line is the way to go because it has a Silky Double Dry™ fabric that wicks away sweat and helps keep you cool and dry.

There’s even a secret compartment on the waist — a hidden inner pocket for your keys, cash or even your iPod Shuffle.

I just wish I had at least 5 pairs of the smoothing pants for every day use because they fit perfectly — just like a glove.

The tank top fit me nicely (size large).  It kept me cool and gave me plenty of breathing room (which I needed!) It didn’t make me appear “boxy” like some tanks do.  Best part? Tag Free AND it’s preshrunk for long lasting wear.

I do have to admit something — Zumba kicked my butt (but I LOVED it!).  It was a pretty simple and lite workout according to the instructor, being that it was only 20 minutes but for a beginner like myself, I had to take it easy. After the workout, that was it for me.  I wanted to go home, shower, put my pj’s on and go to bed.  Luckily for me, I live only 5 minutes away from the place.

Oh and by the way, I totally wanted to take a picture of myself before working out just to show you how comfy and stylish Champion SHAPE™ Wear is but I forgot.  But anyway, here is what I wore:

Champion SHAPE

This outfit was so comfortable, I would definitely wear this on a regular basis.  I made sure I washed everything for my next Zumba class!

  8. Those pants sound really functional. I’d like to try them. I’m close enough to walk to Modells, so I’m going to take a look. And Zumba, such a fun way to stay in shape ¡con mucho sabor! I love it! And how do I add my photo when I comment?

  9. I tried Zumba but didn’t like it… I guess I’m more of a kickboxing kind of exerciser. Now, that outfit is so cute!

  10. Hi Lisa,
I am soo happy to find other people who love Zumba. I actually enjoy the classes with my mother who is in her sixties. It is a great way to exercise, especially for someone who hates the idea of aerobics. But put on a bit of dance music and I will hit the dance floor.

I hope you continue to enjoy the classes.

    • I knew I would love it but didn’t know I would be exhausted after only 20 minutes! And to think I used to go out clubbing and dance for hours! lol

  11. So it’s really comfortable? I have another brand of shaping workout pants and I love them, but I haven’t been able to find a shirt that wasn’t too tight feeling. The shirt and pants are cute.
    Zumba sounds fun!

  13. Those look super comfy! If it wasn’t $50 for a pair, I would totally buy them. They remind me of these BCBG ones I own.
