Can you believe it’s been 11 years since The Muppets last big-screen feature film? When I was a little girl, I grew up with all the Muppets so I get nostalgic just by looking at my daughter fall in love with the Muppets. I think during the Muppets is when I learned about obsession. As we all know, Miss Piggy loved Kermit so much, so much that she was obsessed. But she did love when Kermit would take charge. It was hilarious and all around the cutest thing ever!
When Disney flew me (along with 20 other bloggers) out to a press junket in Hollywood for Gnomeo & Juliet, we all had a sneak peek of one of the scenes they were recording live from one of the segments of the movie. It was phenomenal. To know that we were the only ones (besides the people that work there) who saw the film being made, was awesome. Each minute felt like a dream. I think back and it still feels like I drifted off to sleep and had a dream of those 4 glorious, sun-filled days. It was pure enjoyment and amazement.
During the Muppets tour (which was a top-secret surprise!), Disney had once again surprised all the bloggers — we all took photos with Kermit the Frog AND Miss Piggy! I’m telling you, this trip was an experience of a lifetime. I couldn’t have been more grateful having a relationship with Disney. Disney is the epitome of dreams.
A dream come true.
About the movie:
On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.
What I love as a whole about the Muppets is that there’s something in it for everyone in the family. NO matter how old you are, you just gotta love them. Funnyman Jason Segel (TV’s “How I Met Your Mother,” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”) stars in, co-writes and executive produces “The Muppets.” We saw a small clip with Jason Segel and I can’t wait to take my family to see the Muppets when it premieres in November. I’m ecstatic. Aren’t you?
