Celebrating Children’s Day/ El Dia del Niños with Kellogg’s

When I was a child, I never celebrated Children’s Day.  It is a traditional holiday that I didn’t know existed.  But now that I know about it, I think the concept of Children’s Day is wonderful.  The holiday is celebrated on various days each year all around the world for different  reasons but all child-related.

Whether it’s for Save the Children foundation or to recognize the needs or rights of children, it’s a great way to protect the future of the world.  For instance, Children’s Day or El Dia del Niños is celebrated on April 30th in México. It’s a day where they can wear shorts or a colored shirt or have a day off of school.  In other countries, the day is celebrated on other days as well.

Since I never celebrated Children’s Day as a child, I think I can take the pledge in making every day Children’s Day for the sake of my children.   As a mother of three children, I believe it’s my duty to make sure my children are safe, healthy, protected and eat a well-balanced meal.

Kellogg’s understands the value of breakfast because as we all know; it’s the most important meal of the day.  My kids are starving when they wake up so it’s important for me to have cereals in my pantry for a quick and easy meal.  It’s perfect for the mornings when I don’t feel like making a huge breakfast, which is often at my house.

Cereal is a popular breakfast in the United States. In fact, 82 percent of women and 79 percent of men in the U.S. start their day with a cereal breakfast.

A study of 467 U.S. school children found higher intakes of vitamins A and E, iron, and B vitamins in those who consumed breakfast than in those who skipped the meal. The breakfast skippers – 16 percent of the children in the study – were less likely to achieve even two-thirds of their recommended daily intake for vitamins and minerals.

I’m ecstatic that Kellogg’s is having a promotion that is giving us moms and dads an opportunity to celebrate Children’s day/ El Dia del Niños with a FREE trip to the movies.

Here’s how Kellogg’s is making it easy for us to plan that free movie day:

  • Buy any three Kellogg cereals (8.7 oz or larger) or EGGO Waffles (6 count or larger) and receive a free kids movie pass (up to $7.50 value) with mail-in official order form.
  • The order form can be found on special packages of Frosted Flakes and Cocoa Krispies. Tear Pads are also available in the cereal aisle or from an EGGO freezer cling.

Follow Kellogg’s on Facebook and make sure to visit their web site in English or in Spanish.
